Re: Footie Thread...................
See Burnley are trying to sneak into the equation now.Still some of them top teams got to play each other so there's points to be dropped.
Interesting result for Derby at QPR the other night.
Blockbuster on Sky telly Saturday is Millwall v Preston live, dont know how they pick em but could be a good game with Preston battling for points.

Re: Footie Thread...................
How bad was Preston, awful. So three games to play and all to play for still.Dont expect Scunthorpe to lay down and die like Preston,so could all be sorted for us on Monday.
Shame Derby couldnt do us a favour against Burnley that sounded pretty woefull too.
So long as wobbly leeds dont make it i'm not over bothered now.Already looking forward to next season actualy.

Re: Footie Thread...................
Got well beat by Swansea today, fair and square. So no play offs for the super Lions, which is ok by me as we for sure aren't ready for that.I think this 'Championship' league is much more fun than the 'prem' anyway.
We did have the pleasure of beating the dirty ones and so i look forward to seeing them again next season and another few points off them as usual. And the 'nigels' are safe too so thats another guaranteed 6 points.
Looking forward to the play offs never the less and i think Reading will win them ,Swansea looked the best we've seen this year but it never works out like that .
Would like to finish on a win next week away to Barnsley and finish above the dirty leeds.
Derby will have to have a serious think about their position as they have been very close to the drop two years running and for them it can't be good enough.Dont think Cloughie's got it to be honest, thats the danger of getting 'sentimental' he'll have to step aside or get a good few Mill to spend.

Re: Footie Thread...................
I have to agree with you lioned, although he took the job on with the knowledge that he had feck all to work with. They are promising investment this year, but they did last year too, so who knows.
Everyone's fawning over Savage, when realistically, a younger, fitter midfielder over three years, earning 20 grand a week might have been a wiser choice. Typical Derby......*shakes head*
Hard luck Lioned, although you may have had the same fate as us, with going up early. I hope to god Forest don't do it........ I can't bear to watch them in the play offs.

Partner is off to Middlesex cup final tonight: Wealdstone vs Hayes. Last ever cup final at Hayes before it becomes a housing estate. I would laugh but I'm an Arsenal fan, so I'll get my coat......

Rams sign Theo
Posted on: Mon 09 May 2011
Striker Theo Robinson, who joined Derby County on loan in February, has now completed a permanent move to Pride Park for an undisclosed fee.
Theo, who netted three goals in eight starts for The Lions, struggled to settle in South London following his move from Huddersfield and has now returned to his Midlands roots.
I will try to find out how much in due course.

Re: Footie Thread...................
I don't know what to think about Theo - he runs like a train, then just doesn't know what to do with the ball. He's divided the fans a bit but give him a chance, he may come good.
We had a great day out at Reading on Saturday, although the Reading fans took us a bit too seriously and called us arrogant cretins, or something like that. We seemed to be having a better time than them, and they're in the play offs - maybe that was it.
Of all the teams in the play-offs, I would also go for Reading, not keen on the two Welsh teams, (one would hope they would bide by FA rules whilst in the top tier, not some tinpot welsh association), and obviously, I would rather hve my eyes poked out with rusty forks, than see Forest go up, so.....Reading it is.

Re: Footie Thread...................
Yep rammy end of season party is always good when your safe and not much else to play for.I didnt go to Barnsley but i think we had a good crowd up there seeing as our playoff dreams had gone.
Cant wait for next season now.I do hope west ham dont come down actually as that will be a hell of a day, both sets of fans have already got their chants going, west ham have been singing "six months to Millwall" etc etc,so i think they are resigned to coming down.
Will be rooting for Bournemouth in the playoffs and i think Blackpool will be coming down anyway so thats a couple of good weekend jollys and Brighton too offcourse.
Good game tonight AFC Wimbledon V Fleetwood Town in playoff semi to meet Luton at Old Trafford in the Final.Last i heard Wimbledon 3 - 0 up and 5 - 0 on agg so would like to see Wimbledon beat Luton now and get back into the League.Think its Lutons time though probably.

Re: Footie Thread...................
I thought Barcelona were superb and Man United were just chasing around acheiving nothing, even Manager Alex was smiling because he knew he
had just witnessed a superb Team in Action. Mourinho well deserves his £11.7 million Salary and I hardly recognised him with his bald pate.

Not often you see man utd outclassed, reminded me a bit of the 2004 Cup Final.
Anyway Giggs has spent a fortune trying to be anonymous and he's managed it tonight.
