Kate and Gerry McCann and Madeleine's Fund
The Sunday Times Published: 28 December 2013
In articles dated October 23 ("Madeleine clues hidden for 5 years" and "Investigators had E-Fits five years ago", News) we referred to efits which were included in a report prepared by private investigators for the McCanns and the Fund in 2008. We accept that the articles may have been understood to suggest that the McCanns had withheld information from the authorities. This was not the case. We now understand and accept that the efits had been provided to the Portuguese and Leicestershire police by October 2009. We also understand that a copy of the final report including the efits was passed to the Metropolitan police in August 2011, shortly after it commenced its review. We apologise for the distress caused."
So the Mccanns did withhold this, but 'only' for a year.
So why did the threaten those investigators never to pass that info on? And is the story true that those investigators only passed the information on after seeking an assurance from the fund that they were okay to do so?

The efits only saw the light off day when the metropolitan police went to the offices off MET 3 to gather the info off which no doubt, the mccanns had duplicate files off there own which they prob thought, being them, their weren't no other copies.
Idiots.

Not in M3 files - they were sacked in early 2008 and the Exton efits weren't produced til later.
WHOSE OFFICE did SY need to go hand deliver the permission slip from The Fund to? Dave Edgar? They "found" this report in a box they were going through from the private investigation, clearly McCanns were worried about the other copies of it as they were worth a ton of money (and in this case very bad PR) and had their lawyers threaten Exton to not reveal his report, which included the efits his team produced.
