what are they really upto re some of these stupid headlines - robbers in the appartment etc - and why arnt the mcanns trying to protect the twins from this ? i have no sympathy with them BUT i do feel sorry for the twins and other children within the group - at this age they can protect them from the internet - but papers are another matter

kitti i agree with what you are saying re the mcanns - but these storys are so far fetched evedryone is hacked off and i think the press have hidden messages what though ? i hope that after the ga case the press will tell it how it is

I think it helps distract from the actual story, if they can keep the focus on "who's got her" then the twins and everyone else with the mind of an 8 year old won't be wondering about THEM so much.

Maybe the press feel that SY is going to shut this down - either by a solve, or a faked solve - and there will be little juice left in this story so they are making hay while the sun shines. I can't see SY shutting this down with egg on their face - in 3 years we found nothing and have same result as PJ - so they would probably close, their investigation stating that the parents had nothing to do with it, which is a big issue for McCanns, their reputation, as well as supposedly finding what happened to Madeleine if they don't already know.
