Looks as though all the Press are publishing this....the telegraph for one.
http://www.met.police.uk/madeleine-mccann-appeal/
It looks as though SY have given the Press this story and ignoring Portugal, probably because they can't get any information from OPORTO.What happenns now, will the Portugese close the case???
So SY are even offering a £20,000 reward.......something wierd is going on here., this is part of the article
Whilst not identical, there are many similar aspects to each of the incidents in that in most cases there were no signs of forced entry to the property, nothing was taken, and the intruder appeared in the early hours of the morning between 02.00hrs and 05.00hrs.
So where were the Parents at this ungodly hour?????

Good of the Telegraph to include the Police update on the previous appeal for "the man walking towards the centre of Praia de Luz at 10 o'clock on the 3rd May with the child that looked like Madeleine McCann, we still have not identified who that man is.....". That e-fit and others have still not been identified so the October appeal is still very much live.

Hi interested, there is something weird going on here ,SY are that desperate they are even offering a reward......do they seriously expect anyone to come forward.? Either Redwood is taking instruction from someone with clout or he is so miffed at being told off by the Portugese and not being able to access whatever info Oporto has that he is acting like a spoilt child .
Crimewatch proved to be a waste of time and money , so will this appeal

Hi jassi, when is someone going to call halt to this farce, SY are becoming the laughing stock of this 'Investigation' , there is something very odd going on here , why hasn't Redwood been called to account by either the Home Secretary or Prime Minister? SY have done nothing but produce ridiculous 'suspects and have shown no respect to Portugal . I know i keep saying this, but after weeks of silence after weeks of silence, we get another ridiculous yarn .

Re: Looks as though all the Press are publishing this....the telegraph for one.
The information, that Redwood has dug up, would have been around at the time the reward of around £1.5m, was offered almost 7yrs ago. No one came forward then, no one came forward when Redwood offered £20k reward many months ago and if he has now renewed this offer, no one will come forward again. Why? Because the mystery of what happened to Madeleine, during her final hours in that apartment and where she was taken to, dead or alive, can only be solved by the perpetrators and we all know who they are. More importantly, so does Redwood and his team.

Yes, I think he does, but he also knows that he can't touch them - if he wants a future.

Re: Looks as though all the Press are publishing this....the telegraph for one.
In the Guardian article today, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Martin Hewitt is quoted as saying, "We are seeing an increase in the tempo of the investigation." This after 26 "strategic and tactical" visits to Portugal as well as visits to Spain, Belgium, Jersey, Switzerland, Holland and Germany as well as colleagues across the U.K. The only increase I've seen is in the number of "suspects" and "imminent arrests"; not to mention the skyrocketing taxpayer funded "investigation".

Note this little snip from the Guardian article
Having only just read the Guardian article I found this part to be pertinent
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, in charge of the hunt for Madeleine, accepted there were differences between these cases and that of Madeleine's disappearance but added that there was a possibility that she had not left her family's holiday apartment alive when she disappeared in May 2007.
Note: The wording now seems changed ? This wording below was on the site when I first read it.
Redwood said the assumption that Madeleine had been alive when she left the apartment "may not follow with all our thinking" on the case.

Redwood said the assumption that Madeleine had been alive when she left the apartment "may not follow with all our thinking" on the case.'
Is Redwood suggesting that Madeleine died in 5a , and that her body was removed???? What kind of Burglar would take a dead body? The McCanns from day 1 said Madeleine had been abducted yet not one demand for money has ever been made.

Morning wjk , I do think Redwood should keep his mouth shut and stop playing Court Jester to the Press. We were all starved of our daily dose of
McCann , now we have a deluge of non information to mull over.

It is no coincidence that as soon as the eloquent Dr Amaral hits the news, DCI Andy-Pandy Redwood surfaces with more absurd Operation Deranged leads.

Morning Pennylane, I am surprised that Amaral discussed the ongoing Trial ........unless as I said , an out of Court settlement has been made and he has got his E 1 million back, no wonder he is looking good!! Wouldn't someone have announced this though?

I don't believe Dr Amaral would even consider settling! Plus anyone that's dealt with this cunningly pair, knows they cannot be trusted.... ever!
Goncalo isn't saying anything he hasn't been saying all along. No doubt he's reinvigorated following the McCanns sleazy attempt to get out of their libel suit against him; and seeing how their pathetic witnesses have served to dig the lying duo into an even deeper hole (imo)

The point is though pennylane, he is giving opinions, like he believes Madeleine died in 5a. Normally those involved in any legal proceedings are told not to discuss the case. Since there is STILL no date set for the Trial, I think it has been settled out of Court. It's like trying to unravel a T.V. Murder Mystery Programme, We need Poirot I think.

Yeh bring out Poirot.
Dr Amaral knows what he's doing (imo).
I don't believe it has been settled out of court, Panda. The delays are due to the Ward of Court issue, and from what we've seen of the Home Office all along in this case, they will insure delays abound in turning over any information, especially since it's certain to assist Dr Amaral; and it's obvious the McCanns are tanking horribly in the Lisbon courts. The McCanns legal team will do likewise. You've just got to watch the timing of Andy Redwood to see it's all about the UK preventing the truth emerging.

Madeleine McCann police 'are looking for a lone intruder'

Detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are hunting a sex attacker who assaulted five British girls on holiday on the Algarve.
Scotland Yard announced yesterday that officers are investigating 12 potentially linked crimes in holiday resorts near where Madeleine, from Rothley, vanished in 2007.
In every case, a man broke into holiday accommodation occupied by British families.
In four cases, he assaulted young white girls aged seven to 10 as they lay in bed. On one occasion, he assaulted two girls in the same villa.

Many of the attacks took place between 2004 and 2006.
The most recent break-in was reported in 2010.
Police said witnesses described the man as having tanned or dark skin and short, dark, unkempt hair.
He spoke in English with a foreign accent. His voice was slow or possibly slurred.
burgundy top
On two occasions, he was wearing a distinctive burgundy long-sleeve top. One witness said it had a white circle on the back.
Police said while the crimes were not identical, most were similar. There were no signs of forced entry, nothing was taken and the intruder appeared between 2am and 5am.
Most of the offences took place in the low season and on two occasions people reported hearing the noise of a bin lorry nearby.
Detectives believe the suspect may have been in a villa looking around “for some time” before committing the offences.
In some cases, the parent or the child woke up and disturbed the intruder, but police said the man stayed calm even when confronted.
Of the 12 cases, two occurred in Praia de Luz – from where Madeleine disappeared – four in the resort of Carvoeiro and six in Vale da Parra and Praia da Gale districts west of Albufeira.
Detectives believe there could be more similar crimes which victims’ families did not report to police.
Madeleine was three when she vanished from her holiday apartment as her parents, Kate and Gerry, dined at a nearby tapas restaurant with friends.
A Portuguese police inquiry into the case closed in 2008 but Scotland Yard opened a review in 2011 after an intervention by David Cameron.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who is leading the inquiry, said police needed to establish the identity of the sex attacker.
He said: “These offences are very serious and no-one has been charged in connection with them.
“We need to eliminate this man from our inquiries and establish if the offences are linked to Madeleine’s disappearance.
“If anyone has been a victim of a similar crime, please come forward, even if you reported it to police in Portugal or anywhere else.
“Please do not assume we have been made aware of it.
“While some of these offences have been in the public domain before, following our appeal in October, three more were reported to us as a direct result of that appeal.”
Det Chief Insp Redwood said one of those reports was the first in the possible linked series of crimes. He said officers had received more than 5,000 calls from the public after an appeal for information and the launch of a full criminal investigation last year.
He said: “We still need to establish the identity of a man seen by three witnesses carrying a child fitting Madeleine’s description towards the beach or town at about 10pm on the night Madeleine disappeared.
“The witnesses have described the man in the e-fits as being white, aged in his 30s, with short brown hair, of medium build, medium height and clean shaven.
“The Metropolitan Police Service continues to offer a reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for the abduction of Madeleine.”

Madeleine McCann: More than 250 calls after second appeal
By Leicester Mercury | Posted: March 20, 2014
http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Madeleine-McCann-250-calls-second-appeal/story-20833808-detail/story.html
More than 250 calls and emails from the public have been received by police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
They were responding to a second Crimewatch appeal suggesting a link between the 2007 abduction of the youngster from Rothley with a string of sex offences on young girls.
Officers revealed last night that they were looking for a lone intruder who sexually abused four British girls during a series of break-ins at holiday homes in the Algarve, Portugal between 2004 and 2010.
Det Chief Insp Andy Redwood, heading Operation Grange, said: “While some of these offences have been in the public domain before, following our appeal in October three more were reported to us as a direct result of that appeal. One of those reports we believe is the first in the potential series."

Madeleine McCann appeal: Police receive 2,400 calls and emails
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Officers connected with Operation Grange can confirm that they have received more than 250 calls and emails.
“They will now review the information they have received in connection with their investigations.”
Wednesday’s appeal followed an earlier Crimewatch special last October which attracted more than 5,000 responses.
Ex-Chief Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police Dai Davies, said these latest developments were welcomed, but hoped science could support the links.
He told Central television: “If one applies modern day policing there would be some element of DNA, I hope there is.
“Again, it depends on how thorough the Portuguese Police were in reporting and recording these offences and whether forensics were available there.
“But clearly there needs to be a forensic overview and a re-examination of all these cases to see if it can show light on the disappearance of Maddie.”
