It's bloody rich SY asking for the burglars' bank account info, when they refused to supply same the McCanns info to the PJ.

That is interesting. Managers of apartments, not being pinned on cleaners.
Managers of apartments have keys to apartments and access to empty apartments. Might be worth paying for, if you were stuck for somewhere to hide your tennis bag that is not missing. Just saying.

SY becomes more farcical every day. The investigation is outrageous. They must know the real suspects are right under their noses - in England. And to think the British taxpayers are funding this mess.

Could it be to see if one of them received a large deposit of money, maybe for hiding something in an empty apartment for somebody else?pennylane wrote:wjk wrote:Unbloodybelievable!!pennylane wrote:It's bloody rich SY asking for the burglars' bank account info, when they refused to supply same on the McCanns to the PJ.

Although I don't believe petty thieves would get involved in hiding a murdered child; and if per chance they stumbled on the culprits in action and were offered an irresistibly vast amount of money for help and silence, they wouldn't be dumb enough to leave a money trail in their account/name I don't think?
I recall way back that a member of the Guarda was investigated for having a large influx of money around the time of the disappearance, and it turned out it wasn't suspicious..... but that shows how diligent the original investigation was.

I remember that Pennylane, I think it was in inheritance, could be wrong, but as you say shows how diligent original investigation was.

wjk I wasn't saying you were wrong at all xx, I was asking a question regarding petty thieves.
I'm quite sure vast sums of money have changed hands within this crime, but I imagine it's been well hidden.

I agree with you if that helps.......
Nobody making a payment for services rendered is going to use online banking to transfer from their account to the helpers. However what could be interesting is say somebody in paid employment, being paid into their bank on a weekly basis suddenly stops using said wages to live. That would suggest another source of cash income.
This story along with the Payne article suggests that somebody somewhere is shaking branches in the hope that the apples will fall. Shake hard enough and they usually do.

Re: SY in Portugal
Hi Mossman, I'm starting to think SY are onto something. The trip to Portugal etc. It wouldn't take four officers to go over to sign things, or ask for 3 ex employees to be questioned, there must be something else going on. I wonder what they've found?mossman wrote:wjk wrote:Yes, I agree with you both. Oh dear. And SY was all "set to swoop" on them but now can't, because they weren't burglars but quite possibly helpers.
And this is a dicey and sensitive issue reflecting a failure of the PJ to cooperate - exactly how? It's not even a matter of PT law it's a matter of finding 3 people the night of, making lots of calls as lots of people were that night, out searching and sharing information.
or was there a ring of burglars who'd been dismissed from Ocean Club and would have the keys so they could rob tourists?
It's nonsense and they must track this leak back to whence it came - that they were set to swoop and make "first arrests" in this case.
If they don't shut the spin meister down they will be more humiliated and interfered with than the PJ were, they have spent lots more money and supposedly have the cooperation of mcCanns and all THEIR investigation files, as well as what the PJ had, as well as phone records and more.
Remarkable.

Hi WJK, yes, I think the final episode is about to start.
The visit is significant. It bothers me though. I'm wondering if Andy and his three friends were what they wanted us to see but if the true happenings went on behind the scenes when we were distracted by those photos. They were so open, so public. So obvious. Redwood had to appear, if he were missing we would wonder where he was.
In this day and age communication is so easy. At least four officers from SY to deliver files and hand over a list of questions they want asked of three people ? I don't think so. Wishful thinking would be there was a witness with another officer brought to Oporto whilst the fashion show was played out in Faro.

Remarkable how keenly interested the Met are in ex-MW employees who had keys to the McCanns apartment, and how disinterested they are in the cadaverine infested keyfob of the McCanns!

Re: SY in Portugal
Yes, mossman I'm living on wishful thinking at the moment but I really don't think the four officers were there simply to ask about the three ex employees. Like you say, it could have been a case of 'look over here, not over there'.

I don't think we can say they are disinterested. Absolutely they have not referred to it. To mention it at this stage, they either uphold the dogs evidence or they rubbish it. They have done neither to date, it's more significant to me that they have not discounted it, as far as we know.
