Some of the Commonwealth Games team from Sierra Leone are refusing to go home, as over 200 people have already died there. They say they have 3 month visas in their passports and intend to stay here until things get better in their own country. Two of the team have already been tested in a Glasgow hospital for ebola, fortunately for them and us, both tested negative.

NOT SURE IF ALREADY MENTIONED A MAN IN BIRMINGHAM AND POSSIBLY LONDON WERE TESTED ,ALL NEGATIVE.

I was watching a T.V. report yesterday Badboy and part of the problem is that villagers don't report a sickness and are not very hygienic.

The American Woman infected is now in America and will receive treatment in the hope that it will cure both. Apparently Monkeys are being used in the experiment and some have survived, but these two are the first Humans to be treated.

Nigeria says these 8 people were in contact to the first victim . If the two people being treated in the US recover it is great news that the drug they were given can be used on all cases.

The Doctors are worried that the bodies of the dead in Lagos are being washed when that should be done when all avenues as to the cause of death are analyised.

Breaking News.......British Airways suspend all flights to Sierra Leone and Liberia.

I can see the sense of that since a passenger on a Plane infected another , but if all Airlines follow suit it could be disastrous for these Countries,

How the heck would anyone be able to control it?

We can barely cope with a winter flu epidemic....can you imagine the deaths and chaos if people started walking into hospitals with Ebola!

Yes Angelina, it is very worrying and all hopes are pinned on the U.S. treatment , if the 2 survive there will be huge sighs of relief around the World.

Apparently there is a shortage of Doctors and volunteers are thin on the ground because some have been infected.

I was watching a discussion today and because hygiene in the Villages is poor it makes infection spread. Also, the villagers bury the dead but the Doctors would rather be able to examine them for clues and research

wjk I think a lot rests on whether the 2 being treated in the U.S. recover, the treatment has never been tried before .

Yes, I heard today that they are wanting to cremate all the bodies that die from Ebola.
It makes sense if it could lesson the spread of it.
It sounds an absolutely horrendously painful death.

I don't know if I have already posted this , but worth a read and especially the bit towards the end about what is being used as the treatment .

If this works, the Scientists in the Lab deserve. medals and all kinds of recognition
