Well the Daily Express front page Headline " MADELEINE SHOCK , NEW LOOKALIKE VICTIM SNATCHED FROM HER BED", couldn't be more explicit .isn't that what the McCanns claimed? Page 11 states MADDY:GIRL 3 IN COPYCAT ABDUCTION. Of course it is disrespectful , but isn't that what the Press are? If they weren't being fed all the info and photos from the McCanns by Clarence they couldn't write the nonsense they do.

As I said , the Police have not released Chloe until they have investigated everything, apparently she is in a children.s home temporarily.

yeah her father got punched last night or the night before so clearly something ................ but i believe her parents didnt have anything to do with her being gone for 2 days ........chloe appently knew the men she went with /was taken with thank goodness she is ok

our australian police are awesome too they have not ruled anything out and from what the media has said chloe was interviewed today with special child play therapists etc

According to "couriermail.com.au" the police consider retribution as a motive as "close friends described a threat against Garth (the father) was so serious it was officially reported". It doesn't say WHEN the threat was reported, at the time of the threat or when Chloe was reported missing. In any case, I'm just so happy she has been found hopefully unharmed. I'm sure the Australian police will be doing what they need to do to get to the bottom of what really happened to cause this poor child to go through this traumatic event.

FIRST ON 7: Detectives in Childers are still hunting for Chloe Campbell’s kidnapper as she recovers from the traumatic ordeal.

7News can reveal the three-year-old girl was abducted and held hostage over her father's drug debt.

She's the picture of innocence, a beautiful child, who became a bargaining chip for a drug dealer.

Chloe was a pawn in a blackmail bid to force her father to settle a drug deb involving thousands of dollars worth of speed.

Garth Campbell was inconsolable after his daughter was snatched from their home early Thursday morning.

From the beginning, he was certain the youngster had been abducted, and the kidnapper knew his family but he stopped short of revealing more.

Family friends have told 7News Chloe's father was threatened nine weeks ago. He told his brother he was in serious trouble but didn't go to the police.

"They've done this to scare Garth ... (he) has been very scared, and this is why he's been a mess," family friend Melissa Small said.

Just hours before Mr Campbell received the good news, and ran to be by his daughter's side, he was assaulted in the main street of Childers.

Melissa Small said those responsible for Chloe’s disappearance were "just messed up people" but just where Chloe was taken, and who she was with is still a mystery.

Call me cynical if you like, but I wouldn't be surprised if Chloe's disappearance was planned by her father and the ones who he owed money to. They had seen how quickly the McCanns made money out of Madeleine's disappearance and they devised a plan, where Chloe could be 'taken' and hidden and her parents could appeal for monetary help in finding her.

The plan was to set up a kind of 'Just Giving' page called 'Find Chloe' and the money sent to an address, where the person who was owed the money, would be the only person who would have access to this money. Once the debt was repaid, Chloe would miraculously reappear. Unfortunately the plan went awry, when someone either got cold feet and released Chloe or Chloe managed to escape and find her own way home. Hence her father getting punched as he made his way to the reunion.

Maybe the place Chloe was taken to, was only yards from her home and that was why she was able to find her way home.

While I could be completely wrong, I'm sure I can be forgiven for linking the way the McCanns used Madeleine as a cash cow, was the reason behind Chloe disappearance. Shannon Matthews, disappeared for the same reason. Thankfully Shannon was found safe, but traumatised.

You can call me cynical too. It still could be 'inspired' by mccann, just the 'safe' way, like karen mathews did.

I still don't see the 'window thing' happening. The window is very small,(sliding?), and nobody heard anything. Nobody woke up. I have a problem with it.
imo it would be a problem to get in (was there just one shoe print?) never mind getting out without the child screaming, or making at least some noise.

Several points leaping out at me here -

1. A variation on the Matthews theme, which was of course inspired by the McCanns.
2. Poor wee Chloe taken over a drugs debt, owed by her junkie dad. Is it still a "copycat Maddie" snatch, then?
3. Maybe there are more parallels than we realise, and that's why the McCanns were so quick to whoosh clunk from their OFM page.

The Courier-Mail can reveal Mr Campbell was seen on a street near his house the night Chloe disappeared, about 20 minutes before his daughter went missing.

It was also about 20 minutes before security footage shows two men and a child passing along the railway line behind Pioneer Park, only a few hundred metres from Chloe’s house on the same morning she vanished.

Locals say the girl and her parents regularly walk that same route from their house on the way to town.

"It can be seen that a number of smashed and open windows could give an intruder access to the home."

And nobody woke up?

So the wee girl's said that to family, but not the Police. Whose word do we have for that, then? The family?

Has daddy scammed the whole thing to set up the "friends" he owes money to?

And the father said right away that he thinks it's somebody close to the family. How would he know that? Too many things...  I'm not sure about anything so far.

This bit is interesting. So they weren't in bed at 1am till 7am then.

Theres something very fishy going on, isn't there.
I don't think daddy is going to be as innocent in all this as was first thought.

There are several possibilities here -
1. Copycat fund, but they got cold feet and chickened out.
2. "Selling" the wee girl to write off the debts.
3. Setting up the pal to take the rap for "kidnapping" the kid, as revenge for the threats over the debt.

Pick any one, the dad is in it up to his oxters. I don't think the mum was involved.
