Found: Shirt worn by Madeleine McCann suspect
A FORMER Scotland Yard detective has uncovered a sensational clue that could help solve the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
By: James Murray Published: Sun, April 27, 2014
Peter Bleksley believes the shirt worn by the prime suspect was a rare design produced by beer company Super Bock.
It was not sold but given away to loyal customers and should be possible to trace.
The suspect is a child sex attacker who has been operating for years in the area of Portugal where Madeleine vanished in 2007.
His burgundy coloured top with a distinctive white circle on the back was described by the families of two of his victims.
The Yard has released a picture of the long-sleeve T-shirt.
Mr Bleksley, 54, a founder member of the Yard’s undercover squad, said: “Some people have suggested it bore a resemblance to a strip once worn by the Arsenal football team.
“However, I think a more likely explanation could be that the man was wearing one of these Super Bock promotional T-shirts.
"From speaking to bar owners I know the design for these T-shirts changes every year and only a certain number are handed out to regular customers.
“Therefore, it would be possible to check back on all the designs and the years they were produced and see which one bears most similarity to that witnessed by families of victims.
“Then it would be possible to check the distribution of the T-shirts to see where they were given out.
"Not all pubs bother with the promotion so through a process of elimination it may be possible to narrow down where such shirts may have been handed out and then bar owners could be asked about their customers.
“We know that some victims said the man smelt of stale alcohol and tobacco and that he had a pot belly, so that would suggest he was a regular drinker or may have worked in a pub or restaurant.

Peter Bleksley
“The man appears to target his victims after watching families and working out how to get into their holiday apartments, suggesting he is methodical and has his own modus operandi.”
The distinctive Super Bock logo of a white circle on a maroon background is used on signs outside pubs across Portugal.
In the Algarve resort of Carvoeiro we found a tradesman wearing one of the shirts with the words Super Man on it. He said he had owned the shirt for a number of years.
Last week the Sunday Express flew Mr Bleksley to the Algarve to assess the progress of the Yard’s investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance from her family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007, seven years ago this Saturday, when she was approaching her fourth birthday.
He arrived just as Scotland Yard announced that there were five more attacks on British girls in and around Luz, including a disturbing sexual assault on a girl of 10 in 2005 in the very resort from where Madeleine disappeared two years later.
The Yard are looking at 18 potentially linked cases of someone entering holiday homes.
They are focusing on 12 break-ins during which nine girls were attacked and three other cases described as near-misses.
Mr Bleksley said: “The Yard has a massive job on its hands to look into all these crimes and every tiny clue is important.
"The one solid clue comes from two families who report the intruder as wearing the top with the distinctive white circle.”
Mr Bleksley, whose book on unsolved murders, called Ten Most Wanted, highlighted shortcomings in police investigations, has analysed the McCann files for the Sunday Express.
He suggested it was time to go back to square one, with a new forensic sweep of material from the holiday apartment where she vanished.
Last week Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood revealed that some of the attacks on British girls had been reported to the GNR, the military-style police force that investigates minor crimes, but it appears the information was not passed on to the Policia Judiciaria, equivalent of the British CID.
Mr Bleksley said: “I was very alarmed to hear Mr Redwood suggest there may be forensic material relating to some of these attacks sitting in a GNR cupboard somewhere.
"Clearly, if this is the case these exhibits need to be found urgently.
“In fact, I would go further and say there needs to be a full re-examination of all known material on all 18 of the break-ins and particularly those during which girls were assaulted.”
He believes there should also be a full review of all forensics relating to Madeleine’s disappearance from apartment 5a of the Ocean Club.
“There was a case I looked into for my book where a review of all the forensics on the murder of a woman was re-examined 10 years after the crime and a breakthrough was made which led to a charge of murder.
“Forensic techniques are continually evolving and improving and I think the Yard should consider whether there would be any value in conducting further forensic tests of material from apartment 5a.
“An abductor may have come into contact with bed linen, door handles, door frames, walls, furniture and there could be minute traces from which it was not possible to obtain a profile then but may be possible now.
“If a profile was obtained from 5a it would be very interesting to see if it matched profiles taken from scenes of crime where British girls were attacked in apartments or villas.
“I sincerely hope the Met and the PJ work in tandem towards a shared goal. If these offences had happened in Britain, the victims would have been interviewed on video and the information processed and cross referenced to see if there were similarities to other reported offences and to see if a pattern emerged.
“This obviously was not done in Portugal so the Yard had to go right back to square one.”
Scotland Yard declined to comment last night but said anyone with information should call police on 020 7321 9251 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

'analysed the files' ...
...sound more like 'files' he did read/analyse were:
- The Sun
- Daily Mail
- Express
- k8s book
Obviously he never saw anything, for example, about the dogs. He and his 'files'...

Re: Another EX/FORMER Met cop 'money grabber' for the Express.
And so the attempted discrediting of the PJ round 100 has begun.
Kate talked about these other alleged crimes in an interview and made reference to them in her book. So she had information quite a few years ago now. In fact I remember a reference she made where the man used a fathers aftershave to make himself smell familiar to the child. Now we know it was because he was smelly.
My money is on the t-shirt was stolen by the smelly man from one of the bins he was collecting. Another offence to charge him with. This serial offender could make Redwood a star.....if he can find him.
So a new approach, lets rule out every single person on the planet, then solve every other crime in Portugal, then what is Andy left with........yes, the parents and Tapas lot need interviewing. Funny how no matter what direction he goes in he will end up right back where he started.
Eddie and Keela, DCI Redwood. You need nothing more than that.

Re: Another EX/FORMER Met cop 'money grabber' for the Express.
So the "sensational clue" is that it MIGHT have been a free t-shirt, handed out to beer drinkers in bars that sell Super Bock.
That would narrow it down somewhat -to drinkers in Spain, Germany, Portugal, France, Belgium and Holland. You can buy Super Bock in all of those countries, and probably more.
And then there are the "spoof" Super Bock t-shirts, such as "Super Man" and "Super C*ck", identical to Super Bock apart from the writing. Available from a website near you, prices from €3,50! Like this one - http://santotirso-santotirso.olx.pt/tshirt-super-man-super-bock-iid-447580105
And he's "alarmed" that the GNR "might" have forensic material sitting in a cupboard? Careless twats. They should have "lost" it long before this, like the FSS did. You just can't get the staff these days.

I found this article which suggests Mr Bleksley might well not ne the 'expert' he's cracked up to be.. (Couldn't follow much of it, but the writer doesn't seem overly impressed.)

More on the mystery of ‘Officer 10’ and ‘Officer 11’ – a ‘cheesed off’ former spy-cop?

Whilst googling my way around the whole spy-cops thing, I came across this user contribution on The Guardian website from October 2011, relating to the then-imminent publishing of Hogan-Howe’s HMIC report into Kennedy’s shenanigans:
Should be an interesting read then and here’s hoping that HOGAN-HOWE wasn’t helped too much in his ‘review’ by the likes of Peter BLEKSLEY and any of the other so called Undercover Police ‘Experts’.
Speaking of which, here’s is the link to the recent BBC Programme about KENNEDY if anyone needs it again. With only 3 more days to watch it, having first been broadcasted on Monday, 19:30 on BBC One (East Midlands area only)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0161mc6/Power_Struggle
Having now watched it I don’t know what personally winds me up the most hearing and seeing Mark KENNEDY still obviously in his method man role of Mark STONE and therefore evidently lying as easily as any normal person actually finds breathing. Or Peter BLEKSLEY, as ever and yet again, talking out his backside as the so called rent a ‘media expert’ on deep and long-term total undercover Covert Police work.
BLEKSLEY isn’t, never has been and never will be an ‘expert’ on this matter as long as he has got a hole in his arse.
Up until when he was finished and totally burnt out in 1996 he only ever did numerous short-term crime cover Ops for SO10. Allowing him after each and every single short term role he played, to pop back to the local Police station or NSY afterwards to continue playing with his truncheon, gun, blue lights and numerous Police friends.
His ‘expert’ knowledge is like comparing the method actors of long-term deep undercover Policing, on parr with the likes of Christian BALE or Daniel DAY-LEWIS to his own appearance alongside the cast of East Enders.
The same actually goes for another familiar rent a ‘media expert’ on Terrorism. Whom is known by them in the actual real know I.e. former Met Police Special Branch Officers (RIP) as never having spent one day in his entire 30 years Police service involved in counter-terrorism work! Yes you know who you are.
Basically, if you have ‘been there, done it and got the t-shirt ‘ like some of us have, that’s fine and go ahead and spout. Or otherwise, please just keep your gob shut because everyone is laughing at you.
Pete BLACK
Ps: If you are no doubt reading this cheesedoff69 and also watched the above programme. Well just imagine how ‘cheesedoff’ you are going to be when the full Documentary comes out about him! Then followed by the inevitable KENNEDY’S self publizing book and Film. Contact Paul and Rob (for your personal anonymity best by e-mail) who will do their journalistic best to right any perceived wrongs you or indeed anyone else feel strongly enough about.
As you can see, it’s purportedly by ‘Pete Black’, the former spy-cop who blew the whistle on the Special Demonstration Squad (SDS) in The Observer in early 2010. He makes some amusing references to ex-undercover Met officer Peter Bleksley, who these days punts himself around as an expert on counter-terrorism and whatever else to the media, as well as writing true crime-style books.
Anyway, it’s the postscript that is most interesting.
A quick search shows that ‘cheesedoff69’ has only ever posted once, in August 2011. That post claims that its author is a former NPOIU employee:
I used to work for the NPOIU and I can say without any fear of being accurately contradicted that the officers accounts and expenditure were always scrupulously examined and overseen by independent accountants. The vast majority of members of the unit were based in London and as such were responsible for subsisting themselves i.e. their own money not the taxpayers. I was based elsewhere and as such if I had to spend the night in London then my evening meal was paid for. Far from how Mark Kennedy portrays it I regularly ate in the Chinese Buffet in Strutton Ground, £10 including a drink. Anyone thinking that is excessive has not eaten in London. The apartment close to Tower Bridge (no view of the bridge) was rented at half the market value because the owners could not get a tenant. Mark would not know this because he had nothing to do with anything other than his own day to day expenses. Cars were leased, again the buying power of the Mets allows a much higher standard of vehicle for the same cost of a basic model, I repeat no money was wasted, the senior officers watched every penny. I had great respect for the work Mark did gathering top class intelligence against the hooligans bent on causing serious damage in the UK and mainland Europe, I find it sad that he has lost the plot despite the Support he was afforded.
So did ‘cheesedoff69’ take the advice proffered by ‘Pete Black’ and contact Paul Lewis and Rob Evans? Is ‘cheesedoff69’ actually ‘Officer 10’, or even ‘Officer 11’? Or someone who was able to make the appropriate connections, act as a conduit, and enable other former undercover officers to spill the beans?
Frankly, all a bit far-fetched. Would ex-spies really take to the comments section of a public news website to exchange exhortations to whistleblow?

FOUND: Shirt worn by Madeleine McCann suspect
Go no further - even the headline is an effing lie!
They've done no such thing!
They haven't found the shirt worn by the suspect. It boils down to their latest so-called 'expert' (pause for hollow laughter) 'believing' that he has discovered the provenance of the design. Big deal.
Mr Bleksley, whose book on unsolved murders, called Ten Most Wanted, highlighted shortcomings in police investigations, has analysed the McCann files for the Sunday Express
Oh the irony.
His book <plug plug> highlighted shortcomings in police investigations.
He is an ex-cop and has analysed the files.
And yet ...... he seems to have missed all the damning evidence re the two prime suspects and their cronies including, of course, these --->
That#s a whole shedload of 'shortcomings' in my book.
Still, I s'pose that's what you get when you spend your Portugal jolly cruising the bars looking for a t-shirt.
Have a pint of Super Bock, miss a wad of files evidence, have another one, oops, miss another wad ...
Result = Barking up the wrong tree.
What the hell was he doing up a (hic ... burp) tree?
Shome mishtake shurely. Ed
NEXT!!!

Ed

What a jolly 'jape' it would be if 20 'lads' went to PDL, whilst the Maddie Cops were there on a holiday freebie er 'investigation, all WEARING the Super Bock 'special' T-Shirt!
The 38 Maddie 'cops' would turn into the Keystone cops, chasing the 'lads' all around PDL!
"there he is Sarge"
"No, here he is"
"over here"
"over there"

His burgundy coloured top with a distinctive white circle on the back was described by the families of two of his victims.
All the Bock tee shirts I've seen have had the logo on the front.
So now as well as being pot bellied and smelly, he apparently wears his clothes back to front as well.

Off topic, but here's a little 'heads up':
The McCann family will mark the seventh anniversary of her disappearance this week. Her mother, Kate, will relive her heartache on Thursday during an interview with Lorraine Kelly.

So if any of you have been putting off scrubbing out the toilet bowl, de-fleaing the cat or gouging out those pesky ingrowing toenails, you now have your window of opportunity ...

Not all of his clothes I hope! That would slow him down a bit whenever he was caught short. (Which would be quite often on account of all the Bocks he drinks).

Probably why he's known to be smelly............almostgothic wrote:Iris wrote:His burgundy coloured top with a distinctive white circle on the back was described by the families of two of his victims.

Forget the burgandy coloured shirt - what about the clothing belonging to Kate McCann which the British dogs alerted to.

Kate went into graphic detail about certifying three deaths in the same clothes in the month before she went on holiday, apparently she taking cuddle cat with her.
(Certifying death wearing ragged jeans and a holiday vest with a pink cuddly toy in her bag)... What surgery would allow a locum medical practioner to do that? What doctor would even consider going into a patient's home or care home dressed like that?
Speaks volumes for her hygene.. Small wonder we suffer so many hospital accquired infections with such laxadasical practices..... Take note Infection Control teams... As if!
