Re: Todays Correio da Manha
the dogs cannot be rubbished forever , they have shown their worth over and over again , since 2007 they have been used and have helped in cases , saying that its what they find and how the findings are handled afterwards , like i have said on the other thread it would be good if a outside body from another country gets involved too then whatever the outcome its the truth , not what we read in the press , when i see on tv portugal and sy standing side by side i will believe , upto then i think its all a load of crap

Dogs are going to search for Maddie's body
Algarve: British Police also want to carry out excavations
Attorney General's Office authorizes searches to find the body of English child in Praia da Luz
by Tânia Laranjo
The Public Prosecution of Portimão authorized the British police to make searches in a vacant lots next to the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz, Algarve, where investigators now argue that Madeleine's body may have been buried.
The [English] team that continues to investigate the disappearance of Madeleine McCann had already made other requests that were refused. They have requested now for searches to be carried out on vacant lots next to the apartment from where the girl disappeared on May 4, 2007 and for excavations to be authorized. For now only the searches are allowed.
The English promised to use special equipment such as probes to help find cadavers and dogs that detect the trail of death.
“The question is whether the claims are made based on specific suspicions or just because. The English have not substantiated their requests, which means that the judge has already refused some of them”, said a source close to the process to CM.
Another problem that was raised was that the said site was extensively inspected after the child's disappearance. In the first hours after Kate raised the alarm to Madeleine's absence the authorities believed the child had gone out on her own and was lost and that area was thoroughly investigated.
If the Attorney General's Office gives permission for the excavation works to proceed, those will have to be performed by the Judiciary Police. In the meantime the investigation that was reopened [in Portugal] remains under the jurisdiction of that police force [PJ], since the English police has no authority to make investigations on Portuguese soil.
Correio da Manhã knows that other requests for searches were rejected by the Attorney General's Office. The prosecutor who oversees the investigation argued that there would have to be well-founded suspicions for the authorities to be sent on the field.

arve: British Police also want to dig Dogs will seek body of Maddie Prosecutor authorizes searches to find the body of English child in Praia da Luz Today, 7:50 a.m.Number of votes (0) Comments (0) By: Tania Laranjo The Public Ministry of Portimão authorized the British police to make searches a vacant lot next to the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz, Algarve, where researchers now argue that Madeleine's body may have been buried. The team continues to investigate the disappearance of Madeleine McCann had already made other requests that were refused. Asked now that were done searches on wasteland next to the apartment where the girl disappeared on May 4, 2007 and were authorized excavations. For now only the searches are allowed. The British promise to use special equipment such as probes to help find corpses and dogs that smell the trail of death. "The question is whether the claims are made based on specific suspicions or just because. Englishmen have not substantiated the orders, which means that the court has already refused some, "says a source close to the CM process. Another of the problems that have been raised is that the said land was thoroughly inspected after the child's disappearance. In the first hours after Kate give warning to the absence of Madeleine, the authorities admitted that even the smallest had gone out alone and was lost. The area was hit to detail. If the prosecutor accepts the completion of excavation, the same will have to be made by the Judicial Police. The investigation was reopened however, remains that the reserve police force, nor has the police English authority to make representations on Portuguese soil. 's Morning Post knows what other measures of searches were rejected by the MP. The magistrate who oversees the survey claimed that there would have to be well founded suspicion for authorities to advance the plot.

About an hour ago, Pat Brown "tweeted": "If this dig is truly based on Portuguese evidence, there is hope that Portugal is really moving the investigation forward correctly."
I tend to agree with Pat's theory that the place to dig is the desolate area where Gerry's phone "pinged". Madeleine's little body may have been buried locally for a very short time and later moved by car to a remote area where records show her father's phone pinged.

I agree that the Portuguese seem to know where to look and this gives me hope.

The reason I have so much faith in Pat Brown's theory is that when she visited Portugal two years ago she met with Mr. Amaral and was accompanied by a former British police officer. I have to think she discussed her theory about Gerry's phone ping with Mr. Amaral based on evidence in the official files. Notice in her "tweet" she mentions "If this dig is truly based on Portuguese evidence......". Again, I am hoping there is NO MORE political interference.

Re: Todays Correio da Manha
Not holding my breath, but the reason I have hopes for Pat's theory is because she, like Amaral, followed the evidence to come to her conclusion, unlike SY who cherry-pick the most unlikely theory and continueally search for evidence to fit that theory like a needle in a haystack. At least she conducted her investigation the way that an investigation should be conducted. Of course meeting with Amaral and the former police officer further give her theory credibility.
