No kitti, I don't do tell. Brunt has just been interviewed by Sky News and said he is in Faro where the investigation is going to be based. It is expected that the search will take place in the next few days.

Re: SY Police arrive in Portugal for digs
Signature _________________________________
I am the above mentioned person living in East Goscote, Leicestershire. The full address was previously supplied to police. I live with my husband and our two children of four and two years of age.
Recently I was interviewed by police from Leicestershire on certain points concerning the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. I have been informed that this questionnaire was drawn up following a formal request from the Portuguese authorities. I am aware that my testimony is subject to the Portuguese Criminal Code and English law.
These are the answers that I can provide to the questions which I received:
I have known Kate McCann and her daughter Madeleine for about two and a half years. At that time the McCANN family lived in Queniborough. Kate and I knew each other from the local group of http://www.netmums.com group of children who are starting to ride [SEE NOTE] at Charnwood. We got on well with each other and we become friends. We met at least once a week and we frequented each other's homes. I took care of Madeleine some afternoons or days.
I always thought Madeleine was fun [-loving], smart and expressed herself with ease. She had a very pleasant personality and got on very well with my daughter. She made people smile.
Initially I thought that Gerry McCann was a bit harsh, but as we got to know each other he revealed himself to be very nice and fun [-loving].
I think Kate was a little shy until we got to know each other. She is strong but modest and would never want to be on the pedestal where she is today.
I am not aware of any conflict between the family. Madeleine and Kate got on well together like best friends do. I never saw Kate or Gerry physically mistreat physically children. (page 1)
I never saw Madeleine ill and I consider her a healthy child. I never saw changes in her behaviour.
Madeleine never made complaints about anybody. She never showed bad behaviour, in fact she was almost the perfect child. We could hear her reason [talk/discuss/argue] like she was an adult.
She never seemed scared. She was not hyperactive.
Regarding the sleep habits of Madeleine, Kate told me that when they lived in Queniborough Madeleine used to wake in the middle of the night and come to bed with the parents for the rest of the night. When they moved to Rothley she began to do this less often and the parents used to give her stickers as a bonus to sleep all night alone.
I remember that many of these stickers were there at home, by night she slept the night all alone. The stickers were stuck on the door of the refrigerator.
Kate and Gerry never seemed tired and never argued about how to handle the children.
I have no knowledge of Madeleine at any time to have been subjected to medication. I only remember her being given paracetamol once when she had a cold.
I think the behaviour of Madeleine appropriate for her age. She was very energetic, but a model child. She liked to swim, play tennis and ride a bicycle and attend kindergarten.
I think Kate and Gerry were exemplary parents. Kate never raised her voice and always kept herself calm and never seemed tired of her children even on the busiest days. Gerry 'stripped' his professional air such that he came home after work and got involved entirely with the children.
I do not remember any more, nor any information or additional explanation that is relevant

Thanks Kitti, so the McCanns were model parents and Madeleine a model child....something happened on that fateful night and it looks like we will never know what.

Of course they do and the McCanns admitted Madeleine was a poor sleeper and often ended up in their bed when she woke at night, hence the Calpol.

Really? Not "like mother and daughter do?"

That description would be fine for an adult daughter but not for a small child.

British police ask for aerial photos of places where Maddie's body may be found
8 May 2014 | Posted by Joana Morais Leave a Comment
by Marisa Rodrigues
A Portuguese Air Force helicopter flew, this Thursday afternoon, over Praia da Luz, in the Algarve, to make an aerial photographic reconnaissance of the areas where Maddie's may be found.
This action was taken at the request of investigators from the Scotland Yard, who were this morning in a meeting with the Judiciary Police in Faro, to plan the searches and excavations of the land areas, among other matters.
The British detectives suspect the child's body may have been buried in these sites, located in the vicinity of the Ocean Club, where the child was holidaying with her parents when she disappeared in May 2007.
This was the first visible step on the ground since the searches and excavations were authorized by the Attorney General's Office.
The cost of this flight, like with the other investigative steps [asked by the British], will be covered by the British authorities.

Madeleine McCann's parents angry at media's coverage
By Leicester Mercury | Posted: May 09, 2014

Madeleine McCann's parents have hit out at the coverage of the latest developments in the investigation into the disappearance of their missing daughter.
Their comments come as Scotland Yard detectives arrived in Portugal to meet with their counterparts.
Search teams are expected to start excavating a number of sites in Praia da Luz, where Madeleine – then aged three – went missing on May 3 2007, after they were given permission by Portuguese authorities.
But it is believed that a request to search the homes of three men suspected of a number of break-ins before the youngster's disappearance has been turned down.

It is also thought that friction has developed between police teams over the media coverage of the latest developments.
Scotland Yard commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe said: "There are always going to be complications when you have got one police force in one country working with the police force of another."
In a statement on their Find Madeleine website, Kate and Gerry McCann criticised the media, saying: "There is an on-going, already challenging, police investigation taking place and media interference in this way not only makes the work of the police more difficult.
"It can potentially damage and destroy the investigation altogether – and hence the chances of us finding Madeleine and discovering what has happened to her.
"As Madeleine's parents, this just compounds our distress."
The request to excavate several sites in the area is not thought to necessarily be in connection with a search for Madeleine's body.

McCanns tell of police 'frustrations'
Portuguese authorities have granted permission for one site in the town of Praia da Luz to be examined as part the investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance, the BBC understands.
Permission has been granted for a "field operation" to begin on a section of private land, sources have said.
The Met Police, which is leading the investigation, declined to comment.
Met detectives are understood to have left Portugal after spending two days with Portuguese police in the Algarve.
BBC reporter Richard Bilton, in Praia da Luz, said Portuguese authorities had so far granted permission to begin a search on the land, which could begin in "days" or "weeks".
Investigative work
He said he had been told him that British teams want to conduct more searches, but have yet to make an official request, which could take "weeks" to process.
It is thought that Metropolitan Police detectives have discussed a timetable for investigative work that Portuguese police will carry out for the British team, he added.
The development comes after reports suggested search teams were expected to start excavating sites in the Praia da Luz resort where Madeleine - then aged three - went missing on 3 May 2007.
Met Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley this week said "activity" was expected to begin in Portugal "in the coming weeks".
It also comes after Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, posted a statement on the Find Madeleine website on Thursday criticising "media interference" over newspaper speculation in the case.
The Mark Warner Ocean Club apartments in Praia da Luz pictured in April 2008 The McCann family was staying at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz when Madeleine disappeared
They warned they were "dismayed" at speculation which could "potentially damage and destroy the investigation altogether".
They added: "There is an on-going, already challenging, police investigation taking place and media interference in this way not only makes the work of the police more difficult."
"As Madeleine's parents, this just compounds our distress," they added.
The seventh anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance was marked on Saturday.
Scotland Yard launched a fresh investigation - codenamed Operation Grange - into Madeleine's disappearance last July.
In March, British police then said they were seeking an intruder who sexually abused five girls in Portugal between 2004 and 2006.
Detectives said the attacks happened in holiday villas occupied by UK families in the Algarve.
