Madeleine McCann bogus super-spy 'will crack case' - Daily Star
Article by Jerry Lawton states "A BOGUS super-spy hired by Madeleine McCann's parents could solve the case". Yes, it's Kevin Halligen and he's going to solve the case......LOL!!

It's to do with the programme due for screening next week.

"But according to a new Channel 5 documentary Halligen’s operatives may end up solving the mystery. They identified as the prime suspect a man seen heading towards the beach in Praia da Luz, Portugal, clutching a sleeping blonde girl around 10pm the night Madeleine vanished.
Halligen’s investigators convinced the Irish family who saw her to help produce an e-fit. That man is now the Metropolitan Police’s No1 suspect."
This is ridiculous! The PJ identified Smithman (whom Martin Smith was 80% sure was Gerry) as a suspect. Just because they had e-fits made for which they have not discovered the identity, does not mean that Halligen has identified the prime suspect. It was Amaral's team that found this suspect. What a load of tosh!
On the other hand, wasn't it Halligen's report that was sceptical of the McCanns, and the McCanns suppressed it from being released?

When, i feel, we'll have an 'emergency' CW 'special update' on the McCann case, broadcast at exactly the same 'time' as this programme!
But maybe KH CAN 'crack the case' by telling the world what was 'said/discussed' at his 'cosy' kitchen meetings with the McCanns at Rothley Manor.

How can he be a con man if the search for her is based on the smith sighting which SY are convinced this man took Madeleine
He's either a con man or he isn't.
After all, 500,000 surely is worth spent on finding Madeleine and the man who took her.....and he did.
The only con was the mccanns not telling people about the efit.

I don't believe this man did con the McCanns.
He was paid by them to investigate and produce a report.
It seems to me he arranged for this to happen. He employed investigators who went to PDL and subsequently produced a report.
The con commenced when he refused to pay Exton and his team for their work. The only people out of pocket is him and his team.
So the McCanns got what they paid for. They chose to bury that report for years. IMO they also chose to part ways with Halligan when the content of the report was made known to them.
They have never sued him. One reason is because they got what they paid for, the second reason is because to sue him, he would have produced the hidden report into evidence.

Well it seems that due diligence was carried out re Halligen.
'Cos Clarrie said so.
Therefore it sounds like he was just the sorta guy they were looking for.
Or the people carrying out said due diligence weren't all that ... err ... diligent.
