Grieving

My husband worked with a man and his son from Rothley last week. They were quite adamant that the McCanns are without blame as they see Kate quite often and she is clearly grieving as she looks so gaunt and haunted. I could suggest another reason why she might look like that. No sign of Mr Gerry reported though.

Yes me too D&C.  She looked very fit, well and smiling in Portugal when Madeleine first disappeared.  It was only when they were first made arguidos that the ravages started.

I have no doubt that Kate is truly grieving. However, she is not grieving a missing child, as this whole circus has never been about Maddie. Kate is grieving the fact that Amaral now has the support and funds to appeal the ruling from the libel lawsuit. For Kate and Gerry its all about the money and their reputations, so I imagine they would be at just about an all time low right now.

They are both good at changing their moods quickly, sometimes getting caught out falling about laughing at inappropriate moments.

A reminder of the eve of the first anniversary in 2008. Look what happened at around 2.40 when they thought they were off camera. They look as if they've won the lottery yet a second before they seemed to be grief stricken.

I think you are being a little too harsh.
While I agree the the grief is in fact mostly self-pity at the situation they have put themselves in -(oh it was all supposed to have worked out so differently) - she has lost her eldest child (whatever the circumstances) and that will have had a marked effect on her..

Their actions caused the death of their child,they are grieving for themselves.There's only so much of lorraines sofa that any human being can take !
