What I find difficult to understand is that in every case - every single one the family and friends had absolutely no inkling at all that this person was about to be 'radicalised' especially in the case of the spate of suicide bombings. Even though they believe they are doing God's work, and are destined for eternal paradise, the fact remains they are going to die. Surely that thought alone would bring about some change!!

Good morning old son
This is a possibility I admit. I do feel though that decapitation is a particularly gruesome way of killing and in the scheme of things practised by one particular section of society. In any case to use deadly force, it must have been some quarrel. The sort of dispute that simmers for sometimes months. I think there would have been several signs pointing towards him being unbalanced in other ways.
