A Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all.

I was thinking today, I have not heard one Carol this Christmas. Not in the shops, on the TV or on the radio. Not even in the TV adverts selling Christmas goodies. It is only just over a week to go so it seems strange as every year we are usually belted with them. Such a shame, I like a good Carol, same as I like a good Hymn. I miss them.

The Malls here in Toronto have been playing Christmas Carols since the first of the month. At first it's pleasant and enjoyable; from now until Christmas Eve they have a habit of amping up the volume though, presuming I think, to get the customers in the mood to buy more. It has the opposite affect on me though, I avoid stores during this period except for necessary grocery shopping.
