This is certainly a lot better than was hoped for.
Well done, Daily Mail.

Much better!! Currently only 60 comments but lots of green arrows. It's certainly creating a buzz. I'm still waiting for mine to appear. It will be interesting to see if other papers follow up on this article.

The Telegraph and the IBTimes mention the Met Police donation but unlike the Mail they don't say anything about it can't be verified - I'm sure Team McCann won't be happy about this, the UK public being told the Met Police Officers supported Amaral!

It is a shame none of the articles point out the prosecution of the case against Amaral was funded in part from donations generously given by the public to search for a missing child.

Gerry said he was ok with anyone purporting a theory - so you can purport a theory as long as its not sarcastic

I mentioned that fact in my comment last night to the DM. I also mentioned that the donations were made to a limited company which is funding their lawsuits against Mr. Amaral, the man who seeks justice for the death of Madeleine. I also said that Gerry McCann has stated that everyone is entitled to their theory of what happened. I pointed out that Mr. Amaral's book is based on the investigation into Madeleine's disappearance.
I have to think, since my comment has not been published, that I went too far. I'm delighted the Sun is accepting comments and will comment there.

Despite the inaccuracies I'm glad these papers have presented facts at this time. I have to wonder though 'why now?' Are the editors feeling their necks after the recent Hillsborough verdict and know they have been holding back for years about what they know regarding the disappearance of Madeleine and the McCanns' involvement?
In my opinion they have overstepped the mark by using words like "murder" and "killed" which could lead them open to prosecution for libel.

Independent article
The Independent also says the McCanns were cleared of any wrong doing which is untrue
