Re: Netflix Making a New Series About the Madeleine Case
I see this is being touted as part of a "true" crime series. I hope the "investigators" being interviewed will be Portuguese investigators. I also hope Gordon Brown is among the many "key" figures being interviewed (but I doubt that will ever happen).

It is truly a crime, but a crime that will never be explained because as Gordon Brown famously stated, "Madeleine's disappearance is a matter of national security." How a the disappearance of a 3 year old daughter of a pair of 10 a penny medics could imperil the security of the UK is absolutely mind boggling... Sounds like a load of BS especially coming from Brown who was proven many times during Labours 13 years of war torn, corrupt tenure to be very sparing with the truth..

Re: Netflix Making a New Series About the Madeleine Case
Unless the documentary is based on the official files contained in the Portuguese investigation, everything else is speculation.
I said as much in my comment to the Daily Mail, of course it was not published.

This is great news. The Daily Mail clearly states Amaral's views and I am sure the series will make many people rethink this tragic event.

Madeleine McCann parents have refused to take part in a new Netflix documentary about her sudden disappearance.
The as yet untitled true crime series will comprise of eight episodes featuring interviews with investigators and those involved in the investigation.
Madeleine disappeared from her hotel room where she was staying with her parents, Kate and Gerry and her twin siblings Sean and Amelie back in 2007.
Her mum and dad were eating in a restaurant nearby and had left her sleeping in the apartment. When they went to check on her, she had vanished.
According to the MailOnline Kate and Gerry McCann refused to take part because the Metropolitan Police investigation into Maddie vanishing, Operation Grange, is still continuing.
The investigation is still underway to find her and police recently asked the government to extend funding for Operation Grange.
The Home Office is considering the application. In March £85,000 was granted to police to cover operational costs between April and September this year.
The couple are also still waiting on a judgement from the European Court of Human Rights regarding the Portuguese ex-police chief who claimed Maddie is dead and they are responsible.
Last year Netflix aired a one-part Amanda Knox documentary, which featured an interview with Knox herself.
She was jailed in Italy for the murder of British student Meredith Kercher, who she shared an apartment with, but was later acquitted.
The channel also saw huge success with Making a Murderer, based on Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey’s convictions for the murder of Teresa Halbach.
Since the series was shown there have been developments in the case, with Avery nearer to release and new theories on who may have killed Teresa from viewers turning detectives.
