McCanns will not take legal action against Portuguese Government

Rogério Alves, former Bar Association President, told today that the McCann couple “don't see any reason to sue the Portuguese Government.” Mr. Alves said that Gerry and Kate “were obviously frustrated because they couldn't find what happened to their daughter and who was responsible for it, but they don't infer that (Portuguese) police has done a bad job, or that there is any reason to sue the Portuguese Government.”

Talking to “Barlavento Online” a Algarve news site, Mr. Alves admitted that, after the analysis to the 30 thousand pages of the files is finished, “we can reach the conclusion that we should do nothing and just leave everything as it is”, concerning further legal action for reopen the investigation of appeal to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

“The fact that the investigation hasn't found what was the crime and the perpetrator doesn't mean that police has done a bad job”, the McCann lawyer said.

If everyone sued the police in every country for not solving cases the police would always be in court and not at their desks

They aint bothering coz they know its gonna cost them to sue them and it takes years so why waste time and money when they can sue someone else.

Oh thank goodness! With the string pulling power these two have, I was afraid they'd start a war with Portugal and get away with it!

they know the police tried doing their job and if anything they now love the pj for not being able to put them in prison. for now.

I think they know the PJ had enough on them to wrap this up but they were stamped on from above.

Maybe they made a deal with the PP....he's changing his tune about them now...saying they didnt kill Maddie but someone else could have
