Email about Belgian ring was “unsubstantiated information”
The email sent to PJ by the Leicestershire Police, about a paedophile ring based in Belgium that alegedly placed an "order" for the kidnap of Madeleine McCann, was classified by Scotland Yard as “unsubstantiated information”. A spokesman from that police force, quoted yesterday by The Telegraph, said: “Unsubstantiated information was received by CO14 relating to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. This was passed on to Leicestershire Police on 4th March 2008. The information was further discussed with Leicestershire Police verbally and all possible lines of enquiry were conducted. Leicestershire Police passed the information on to the Portuguese authorities.

Unsubstantiated - 1. not substantiated; unproved or unverified: unsubstantiated allegations.
2. being without form or substance.
Yet so many are clinging to this like its gospel

Re: Email about Belgian ring was “unsubstantiated information”
McCanns not paedophiles to blame for Madeleine’s disappearance
On the basis of this brief email…
“Intelligence suggests that a paedophile ring in Belgium made an order for a young girl three days before Madeleine McCann was taken.
“Somebody connected to this group saw Maddie, took a photograph of her and sent it to Belgium. The purchaser agreed that the girl was suitable and Maddie was taken“.
The Daily Telegraph concludes:
“Only now, is a picture emerging of what may have happened.
It destroys the PJ’s theory that the couple accidentally killed Madeleine and then tried to dispose of her body”.
Since when does such scanty information, more likely misinformation, gain such credibility with a British broadsheet, especially given the unreliability as stated below?
“The Met Police were tipped by an anonymous source, the files showed”.

I am disheartened that there is no voice for Madeleine. The media are going out of their way to protect the reputation of those 2 ignorant negligent doctors while Madeleine is forgotten.
