The girl kept a diary of the abuse.

BARRE – A woman who has lived in Burlington and East Montpelier is in jail on sordid charges – based in part from entries in her child's diary – that she allowed her young daughter to be raped and molested.

The case came about in October 2007 when Parnitzke's 11-year-old daughter, who has been living with her father in California for the past year and a half, disclosed to her father that while she and her mother were living in England her mother would bring men home from her AA meetings and force the girl, starting at the age of five, to let the men rape her.

California authorities contacted police in Burlington because Parnitzke and her daughter had moved there in 2004 and because the child said her mother's boyfriend, Casey, raped her in a Burlington North End apartment on numerous occasions, according to court documents.

Parnitzke met Casey in Vermont some time in 2006, according to court documents.

The girl was interviewed at a child advocacy center in San Jose, CA, in October and investigators in Burlington worked on the case in Vermont.

According to court documents Parnitzke would force her daughter to watch a pornographic movie, telling her daughter it was a "Disney" movie, and then force her daughter to do what she saw in the movie.

The girl told investigators she remembers seeing her mother getting injected with a hypodermic needle by the men and sometimes the needle would be put into the child while she was getting raped.

The child kept a diary, in which she tallied every time she was forced to let Casey rape her. The child told investigators her last count of tallies was 15 and that she thought she was raped while living in England approximately 10 times. Investigators retrieved the diary from Parnitzke's storage and found evidence of the child's list; days she was allegedly raped were marked with an "S" for Shane.

What more proof did they need the first time? At long last they are in jail!

Vermont Woman Back In Court For Child Abuse

Woman Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Daughter

April 19, 2010

BURLINGTON, Vermont

Opening statements began Monday in the retrial of a Vermont woman accused of sexually assaulting her daughter and allowing men to abuse her, as well.

Court papers say 40-year-old Stacey Parnitzke forced her daughter to have sex with men -- starting when she was 5 years old -- in England and then in Vermont.

Parnitzke's former boyfriend, Shane Casey, is accused of raping the young girl several times.

The pair alleges that the girl made up a story about the abuse. Their first trial ended in a hung jury last June.

UK woman charged in US with sexual assault of daughter

Thursday, Jan 10, 2008

An English woman has been charged with aggravated sexual assault on a child after the discovery that her seven-year-old daughter kept a diary in which she wrote she was forced to have sex with her mother's boyfriend.

The girl, who now lives in California with her father, also told investigators that while she lived in England, her mother allowed men she brought home to have sex with her.

Stacey Parnitzke, 40, and former boyfriend Shane Casey, 38, were arrested on Friday in Vermont. They could get life in prison if convicted. Each pleaded not guilty to the same charge.

The assaults allegedly occurred when the girl was between the ages of 7 and 9, according to court documents.

"With these cases, when they deal with children, you have the truest definition of a victim. This child could not have fought back. She was unable to do so. She was totally at the mercy of these two individuals," Vermont State Police Detective Lance Burnham said.

A lawyer for Parnitzke and Casey did not return a call on Tuesday seeking comment.

Burnham said Parnitzke was born in England but was a permanent resident of the US. Parnitzke and her daughter moved to Vermont in 2004, but Parnitzke sent the girl to live with her father in 2006.

The father went to police in October after the 11-year-old girl told him that while living in England, Parnitzke would bring men home from Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and let them rape her starting when she was 5.

Investigators in California contacted Vermont authorities because the girl said Casey sexually assaulted her repeatedly.

Burnham said he had been in contact with the authorities in Pontefract, England, about 241km north of London, but there was not enough evidence to begin a criminal investigation there.

The girl also told investigators her mother sexually assaulted her, the documents said.

More charges are possible against Parnitzke and Casey, Burnham said.

Burnham said investigators retrieved the girl's diary from storage in Vermont and had corroborated many of the things she wrote and spoke of.

"If you read the affidavit, you will read how she explains certain elements of the crime," Burnham said. "She is very credible. We have no reason not to believe her. We were able to confirm certain dates that she spoke of.
