What are the McCanns actually doing as regards "searching"

Kate and Gerry McCann are relentlessly repeating in our UK media that "Madeleine can be found" and that they are "still searching" but I for one haven't seen any evidence of that for years.

Who are their current Private Detectives and what or where are they looking?

You would have thought that with the McCanns asking for "donations" to their "fund" they would be keen to share with the donors how they are getting on with the search.

Would you not?

That would be an interesting question together with what % age of the fund goes to the 'search' .just needs some interviewer with a bit of back bone to ask that,easy really.
Personally i doubt there is any real search at all and that all the fund money is going to legal fees and mortgage payments and sundry expenses like travel and meals.

I didn't see much involvement by them in searching right at the start. People find it difficult to motivate themselves towards tasks they know are going to be unfruitful.

Yes Mirror I too can cut and paste a paragraph or two from the McCanns own website. If you were actually JOURNALISTS you might have said. What are you actually doing in your search?

What the McCanns appear to have been doing, concerning searching for their daughter, is seeking out detective agencies that don't look for missing children.

What are they searching for, exactly?

Redemption?

Forgiveness?

Approval?



Whatever it may be, it does not seem to bear directly upon physically locating Madeleine, their daughter.

But vexatious litigation can backfire.

One thing that isn't even in the top 100 is actually looking for Madeleine it seems sadly

Thank you for the link NotBornYesterday, I can't say for certain if Edgar and Cowley have done any physical searching for Madeleine, but I do know that they have been passing leads on to the PJ, knowing full well that the case was shelved and there was no investigation, into Madeleine's investigation, going on.

If Goncalo Amaral was speaking the truth and I do believe he was, it was the McCanns, with the help of the British Government, who had the case shelved and once the case was shelved, the investigation into Madeleine's disappearance ceased.

Edgar and the McCanns complained, that the PJ were not acting on those leads, but no one had the guts to say, why is Edgar and Cowley not looking for Madeleine, when they are being paid to do so, out of the fund. One of the leads that was passed on to the PJ was the lead where Madeleine was supposed to be living in a lawless community 10km outside Praia da Luz. It was Edgar who told the media where Madeleine was supposed to be living, which meant that Madeleine's captor, would have then moved her on.

Edgar was heavily criticised, for not following proper investigative procedures, there is more about that in this link....

Dave Edgar & Arthur Cowley are no longer the McCanns' detectives.

The last I heard was this in October 2010
