KATE McCann fears her husband’s criticism of the Prime Minister may hamper the search for missing daughter Madeleine.

Gerry McCann hit out after David Cameron rejected Lord Leveson’s call for a new press law. He said that while he respected the PM he disagreed with his viewpoint.

Kate simply urged Mr Cameron to “embrace the report and act swiftly”. A source close to the McCanns said yesterday: “Kate and Gerry are relying on the Prime Minister to keep the Scotland Yard review, which he ordered, ongoing.

“The last thing Kate wants is to annoy or upset the PM and does not want there to be any backlash.” Kate now wants reassurance from the Government that the 18-month case review will continue.

The McCanns and the parents of Milly Dowler were among victims of press intrusion who declined to meet Culture Secretary Maria Miller to discuss the report. Kate wants to reschedule the meeting. The Home Office said there was no deadline on the Met review.

bet there is some cross people in the mcann house im sure they find the two articles the daily express posted hurtful and unhelpful

Yes, Jenny Murat stating that she thinks Kate McCann should not have mentioned Robert in her book in the way she did at first and now this about cracks showing in the McCann household. We've never had anything other than togetherness about Kate and Gerry and now this. The McCanns have berated and sued anyone they could accuse of harming the search for their daughter and now it seems that Kate thinks Gerry might be doing just that. One of the central pillars of their accusation against Gonçalo Amaral is now being used against Gerry by his wife. Oh dear! Maybe the Express wants its money back!

Picture and no sound in the the McCann household at the moment, I bet. Poor Gerry, i bet Kate is hitting beds and calling him a f**** t****.

In answer to the question, both Kate and Gerry have "harmed" the search. They did that the day the stepped onto that Easyjet plane and left Portugal. They need to realise that. They and only they stopped the PJ's search and allowed the case to be shelved. They can only point the finger of blame at themselves in that regard.

This looks very much like KM briefing against GM.
And it also looks like the 'source' in this piece is briefing against GM too:

If this is the start of a public war of words, then they are in very dangerous territory.

What search? The "paernts" certainly never searched, that's well documented. They just sat and complained that "no-one was searching for Madeleine". How can you harm something that doesn't exist?

Start? IMHO it's been going on since day 1. Poor Gerry, the handsome heart-throb heart surgeon, saddled with the neurotic, unstable wife who's cruelly taken his little girl away. How he's tried to protect her and cover up her crimes out of love and loyalty for the rest of his family. A loving, caring family man who has been bitterly misunderstood and wronged, and is as much a victim of hs nutter wife (and everybody else) as his little daughter. He deserves nothing but sympathy and understanding and a Governmental post with a big salary. Of course, he has his big extended family to surround him and give us all a warm and fuzzy feeling, after he has been heartbroken by his beautiful but cruel and deceitful wife.

Maybe I should write a book myself. 50 Shades Of Gerry.
