I HAVE JUST READ A REPORT IN NEW SCIENTIST THAT SOME RESEARCHERS FEED SOME VOLUNTEERS WHO LIE IN BED ALL DAY AND DIDN'T EXERCISE 6000 CALORIES OF PIZZA ETC A DAY ,THEY BECOME INSULIN RESISANT WITHIN 2 DAYS,MAYBE THE PARENTS WERE NOT AS BAD AS THAT,BUT THERE WERE PROBABLY FEEDING HER LOT OF S*** WHICH BASICALLY HAD SAME EFFECT OVER A LONGER PERIODS.

READ A BIT ON NEWS STAND,DIDN'T BUY NEWSPAPER,700 PEOPLE DIAGNOSEED WITH DIABETESS IN UK A DAY 2 EVERY MINUTE.
IS THAT 210,000 A YEAR? OR HAVE I CALCATURATED WRONG?
ALSO SAW A SLIDESHOW ON MSN NEWS SAYING ONE OBESE PACIFIC NATION POSSIBLY TONGA OR SAMOA HAS HIGH RATE OF DIABETES.

h i Badboy, I think you will find that type 2 diabetes is the one on massive increase,type 1 n ormally the one that even small kids develope,as the pancreas doesn't work well ,they will be put onto insulin normally for life . So many over weight problems today ,that doesn't help ,and that is a problem with meals all ready prepared ,cant really be sure of too much salt and sugar content . best to try not to use ready meals . I was child in the war years ,didn't see many chubby kids or adults at that time of rationing .haha yes I am old . regards joyce1938.

WENT UP HOSPITAL YESTERDAY BECAUSE OF CHEST PAINS,NURSE COULDN'T FIND VEINS BECAUSE DIABETES LEADS TO DILUTED VEINS,DIDN'T KNOW THIS.
AM OK ,SIMPLY WAS MUSCULAR PAINS FROM BEING AT COMPUTER TOO LONG. ,WAS IN HOSPITAL FOR 8 HOURS

I'm starting to take Metformin tablets today as I have alas failed to keep my weight under control.

Do we have anyone with experience of taking these?

I don't really know your situation from health point . Do you have to sit around a lot ? I am not being rude about this .please know . If people cant keep active ,the weight often takes them to another leveland needing meds. It cant be help I think ,under some circumstances,try not to worry ,must be a helpknowing you have now what you need . regards joyce1938
