I SEE CHANGING THE SUBJECT SLOGHTLY THAT A FINANCE DIRECTOR AT KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA COUNCIL HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF FRAUD STEALING MONEY FROM GRENFELL VICTIMS.
THESE DAYS SOME PUBLIC EMPLOYERS THINK PUBLIC MONEY IS THEIRS TO SPEND.

Not really Badboy, they are just plain lowlife thieves that manage to wheedle their way into positions of trust and blame everyone below themselves down to the office tea lady if anything goes wrong.

INTERESTINGLY IT IS THE COUNCILS,MAINLY LABOUT WHO RAISED COUNCIL TAX BY 1% A YEAR THAT ARE IN BETTER FINANCIAL SHAPE THAN THOSE THAT FROZE THEIR COUNCIL TAX RATES.

SOME COUNCILS LIKE NEWNHAM TOOK OUT LOBO LOANS LINKED TO LIBOR,NEWNHAM IS NOW PAYING MORE IN INTEREST EVERY YEAR(75MILLION)THAN THEY ARE RAISING IN COUNCIL TAX(65 MILLION)

GOVERNMENT SENT IN MORE COMMISSIONERS TO RUN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE CC.
ALSO MORE WARNINGS FROM COUNCILS THAT THERE ARE ON BRINK OF CATASPHASTIC (SP?)COLLAPSE BECAUSE OF GOVERNMENT FUNDING CUTS.

There's always enough money in every council's funds to award themselves large salary increases and expenses paid visits to other countries, Badboy.

EXACTLY WHAT I AM THINKING,THEY WOULD REQUIRE LESS MONEY IF THEY CUT BACK LEADERS AND COUNCILLORS EXPENSES.

Some pay themselves as much as or more than the Prime Minister gets...

They are expensive to run, Badboy.. It's perhaps a matter of councillors paying themselves less and spending on the services that the rates are collected. for...

The entire system of government, whether National or Local revolves around businessmen who see openings for pressing their own agendas whatever their politics are. They should not be allowed to deviate from the mandate that they campaigned under. Also the accounts of Local government should be scrutinised by several accountants before being accepted. National government needs to stop giving £billions of the Nation's reserves to banana republics or countries such as India and China who are spending truly massive amounts on space exploration while their populations are often starving. We have food banks here which are a testament to the inability and lack of fitness for our leaders to care for our own population.
