Mr Santos: Mr Amaral's personal honour prevented him from publishing the book before his retirement from the police force. less than 5 seconds ago from web

Guys can you just remind me of those ridiculous management speak words he used on that stupid flip chart, I just know it will make me laugh.

I think Gerry would feel that with Kate just being a totty and a battered one too and really nowhere near as superior as her HIM FOR GAWDS SAKE, he had better just leave her the typed up script in big plain print and bold,. He would have liked her to use a flipchart but knows she would just not hack that

I do not think that sounds very good for Goncalo.

If it is proved that Amaral intended to publish the book while the investigation was still ongoing I think the
injunction will remain.

Mr Santos: While Mr Amaral was in charge of the investigation he came under attack from sections of the British media.

Carly I knew what you meant but Gerry would be so pissed iff he only got a million dollars!

Seriously, I think the judge will be pretty miffed with Goncalo in publishing this book and worse the documentary. I also think she will sympathise with the position of British Police.

It doesnt matter if someone writes or make a documentary during an investigation just as long it doesnt come out BEFORE that investigation has ended

No that was when it was boiling hot! The McCanns issued an application to the British High Court on 2 April 2008 to try and get their maulers on the British Police file because they were well you .....themselves.

I don't think he'll win either. The McCanns will manage to convince everyone that it is not in Madeleine's 'best interests' to have a book available to the public like that.

Mr Santos: Mr Amaral decided to publish the book to clear his professional reputation. half a minute ago from web

IMHO it does not matter whether he wins or not, now. Everybody knows that the book is out there, and everybody will want to read it. Whether it is a legal copy or an internet transcript or whatever. The McScums have zero credibility left, so no more donations now, neither. They may well still "win" but it will be a Phyrric victory.

I agree that he could well not win but not on the account that the book is libellous. Because wouldn't that mean the files are libellous as well. It could go either way. But I don't think they'll get their £1 million. wishful thinking perhaps.

Exactly. The time of the writing is irrelevant, as long as the book is not out while the investigation was still going on.
