Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses after the disappearance of a Polish fisherman from rocks in Aberdeen.

It is feared Adam Krzyszpin, 22, was swept out to sea while rock fishing in Cove. A search of the sea and coastline failed to find any trace of Mr Krzyszpin.

Grampian Police are keen to trace three men, believed to be Eastern European, who were possibly in the area fishing on the Sunday morning.

Officers are to distribute missing persons posters in both Polish and English in an attempt to reach more potential witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Gray said: "We know Adam headed off towards the area known as the Red Rock to go fishing, early on Sunday morning. He was driving an old style blue Volkswagen Polo, which was found parked near this area and I am appealing for anyone who might have seen Adam between 6am and 10.30am.

"We understand that three Eastern European men were fishing there that morning and they may have known Adam or have seen him prior to his disappearance.

"I am appealing for them to come forward and, likewise, I would appeal for any dog-walkers or motorists in the Hareness Road area along the coast that morning who may have any information which could help us.

"We are keeping an open mind as to his whereabouts but we have to face the ever increasing possibility that Adam has been swept out to sea and as such, his next of kin are being kept up to date."

Mr Krzyszpin was last seen wearing a black and white shirt, blue jeans, a khaki fleece jumper, a white fleece jacket with brown stripes and a hood, a dark blue body warmer, dark blue Fila baseball cap and had white trainers on.

He is described as being about 6ft and of slim build, with short brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on Adam's whereabouts or who saw him prior to his disappearance is asked to contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700.

Despite appeals to the Polish community in Aberdeen and posters everywhere, no trace of Adam has ever been found.
