A North Middleton Township, Pennsylvania woman was sentenced today to 6 to 18 months in Cumberland County Prison for conspiring with her husband to molest two children.
Renee Lamason
Renee Lamason, 27, was sentenced by county Judge Kevin A. Hess five months after a jury convicted her and her husband, Scott, of charges including indecent assault of a child and child endangerment. The jury couldn't reach verdicts on more serious charges filed against the pair.
Scott Lamason
Last month, Scott Lamason was sentenced to 1 to 2 years in county prison.
Police said the Lamasons molested the children, ages 7 and 10, over an extended period. At trial, the couple denied abusing the youngsters.
Renee Lamason asked Hess for leniency, saying she is trying to rebuild her life, has two jobs and is taking college courses. She said she has separated from her husband.
Senior Assistant District Attorney Christylee Peck sought a state prison term "because of the damage that has been done to these children." However, Hess said he believes Renee Lamason was less culpable for the molestation than her husband.
