Police search for missing girl, 13, from Sussex

A 13-year-old who has been missing for four days may have travelled to London.

Caitlyn Critchley was reported missing from Mill View Close, Westham, near Pevensey, at about 9.30pm on Saturday.

Officers have checked all the known addresses where Caitlyn may have gone and are making contact with friends and family who may know of her whereabouts.

Her picture and details have also been circulated to police officers across Sussex and the Met Police.

Caitlyn is white, with long, blonde, shoulder length hair and was wearing all black when she went missing. She was carrying a black and pink rucksack.

She is thought to have links across Sussex, especially in Shoreham and Brighton. There is also a possibility that she may have travelled to London.

DI Rob Morland said: “We are concerned about Caitlyn and would like to hear from anyone who may have had contact with her since she went missing.

“Caitlyn has many friends and family who are extremely worried about her and want to see her back home safe and well.”

I was going to say that I was surprised, but actually I'm not, about the reason the 'Wall,' was closed for the night: people posting nasty messages and horrendous links. Thirteen is much too young to be out there on her own, dependent on whoever may be helping her. I hope she is found soon or will go home.

Fears grow for missing Caitlyn

CONCERN is growing for a teenage girl who has been missing from her home for almost a week.

Thirteen-year-old Caitlyn Critchley disappeared from her home address in Mill View Close, Westham, at around 9.30pm last Saturday (August 14).
The blonde teenager has gone missing from home before but never for such a long period of time.

Both Eastbourne Police and her family, which live in Littlehampton, are growing increasingly worried for her safety and want to hear from anyone who she may have been in contact with.
Her mother Sue Critchley has appealed, via Facebook, for her eldest daughter to come home and has posted a video on YouTube.
Mrs Critchley, who has five other children and is also expecting a baby, said, "I am so worried. We are having no luck finding her anywhere.

"Please come home Caitlyn, we miss you so much."

A police spokesperson said officers have checked all known addresses that Caitlyn may have gone to and are working to make contact with friends and family who may know her whereabouts.

Detective Inspector Rob Morland said, "We are concerned about Caitlyn and would like to hear from anyone who may have had contact with her since she went missing.
"Caitlyn has many friends and family who are extremely worried about her and want to see her back home safe and well."

Police are continuing to search for 13-year-old Caitlyn Critchley who has been missing from Westham, near Pevensey, since around 9.30am on Saturday (August 14).

Enquiries are being made in the area and in Shoreham, Brighton and Worthing where she has strong links. Officers have checked all known addresses that Caitlyn may have gone to and are working closely with her family. They have received information that she may have been in the Sompting area on Monday, but believe there is a good possibility that she may have travelled to London, perhaps with a friend. Her details and photograph have been circulated to the Met Police and British Transport Police.

She is white, with shoulder length blonde hair and wearing all black when she went missing. She was carrying a black and pink rucksack.

DI Rob Morland, who is heading the search for Caitlyn, said: "Caitlyn has gone missing on a number of occasions this year, but has generally been found or returned within a day or so. She has now been gone for five days and given her vulnerability as a 13-year-old, we are concerned.

"We have no information at this stage to suggest her disappearance isn't voluntary, but her family and friends - especially her mother who Caitlyn speaks to regularly - are extremely worried about her and want to see her back home safe and well.

"If anyone knows where she is or has seen or heard from her over the last few days, please contact 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 1799 of 14/08."

Anyone missing from home or anybody who knows where they are can also contact the 24-hour Young Runaway Mentoring Service in East Sussex on 0300 303 1221.

I was reading about this yesterday, the poor family must be beside themselves. Hope she returns home soon.

I have not heard about this young girl going missing, I do hope they find her safe and sound her family must be sick with worry my heart goes out to them

From what I have been reading Eve, the poor family have not even had proper media coverage offered to them. They have made pleas in the local papers and they managed to get a mention on GMTV but none of the nationals have picked this story up despite people emailing the story to all the main news channels and papers.

Clearly not a McCann or she'd be all over the news.
Hoping for a 'happy ending'.

Caitlyn has been found. I can't give out any information yet as other areas of interest need to be sorted and dealt with first, but she has been found and is safe!!!!

The search ended at 12.20pm today (Friday, August 20) after she was found.
