I'm feeling pretty emotional since the birth of my first granddaughter a couple of days ago and this picture has had me in floods. How could anyone hurt such a treasure?

I'm glad, if this term can be used under the circunstances, that this poor example of a man is dettained and will be judged in Germany. At least he will get a much harsher penalty than he would in Portugal.
It's so sad that women and children keep being the main victims of such cruel crimes.

I hope the little child didn't have a chance to understand what happened to her - there's nothing more horrid than being harmed by those that were supposed to protect you.
