I dont like john terry but he got found innocent and thats fair enough as far as i'm concerned. There's a lot of shouting and abuse happening on a footie pitch its part of winding up the opposition.I've seen and heard it over the years, you'd be shocked if you heard some of the stuff i have. Then after the game they all have a beer if their man enough.
eta. this discussion should be on the John Terry's a w*nker thread.

I would tend to agree Lioned.
He was found to be innocent of something he was wrongly accused of therefore I am pleased for him. I don't like or dislike the man as I don't know enough about him to form an opinion as a person however as a player, he does get on with the job.
I've not been to many football matches at all however I've watched numerous documentaries to understand that the 'banter' between players and also the crowds towards the ref, can get very heated indeed however just where is the line to be drawn ?
I wouldn't want to see the game stopped each time the banter starts because many games would be neverending and the flow of play would be spoiled by a player holding his hand up and telling tales each time a comment was made.
Of course though there has to be limits in place such as definite racial abuse and fighting for example.

Re: Footie Thread...................
ARSENAL new boy Lukas Podolski has begged Robin van Persie to stay at the club.
German star Podolski is set to join his new Gunners team-mates for pre-season training later this month after being granted an extended break following his participation at Euro 2012.
But it looks increasingly doubtful he will play alongside Van Persie, 28, at the Emirates next season with the Dutch superstar refusing to extend his deal.
Van Persie, finished last term as the Premier League's top scorer after smashing 30 goals but is out of contract next summer.
And he is attracting interest from Italian champions Juventus and big spending Manchester City, who are ready to offer £20million for his services.
But Podolski, who agreed to leave Cologne in a £10m move in April, urged the Holland international to stay put.
He said: “All I can say is Van Persie had an amazing record last season and hopefully there is a way he can stay with Arsenal.
“It would be great to play with him, but obviously this is not in my control.”
Podolski, 27, also revealed the reason he decided to leave Germany for England was the opportunity to work with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
He added: "The manager has a record getting Arsenal into the Champions League every season and his reputation in Germany and all over Europe is very strong.
“What I like about him is his passion for attacking football. He aims to play with style and flair all the time.
“Those are his principles and he'll never compromise on them. Some people are disappointed with him, but they need to realise what a great coach they have.”
He continued: “Arsenal have a quality squad and they should not aim to finish behind the rest or just settle for top four.
“Champions League football is the minimum requirement at Arsenal, but we should aim higher.
“For me, we have as good a chance as anyone in the Premier League. The key will be to start well and, unlike Manchester City or United, there will not be as much pressure on us.”

Re: Footie Thread...................
EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR is set to thrash out personal terms with Tottenham and complete his move early next week.
Adebayor is available for a cut-price fee as he only has a year left on his deal and is not wanted by City boss Roberto Mancini.
Spurs now just need to agree a package to cover most of Adebayor’s £170,000-a-week wages at City and a signing-on fee.
Adebayor is seen as a key player for new Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas — and his move will also pave the way for City to bid for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.
Rafael van der Vaart says he is likely to stay at Tottenham — despite interest from Germans Hamburg and Schalke.
He said: “It’s unbelievable how my name is speculated around Europe. I’ll probably stay at Spurs.”

Re: Footie Thread...................
I think spurs will be a force to recon with next season and sorry Chez but the Ar$se are going to be not good enough for the top five again.
More to the point have you been following the Scottish excuse for footie and this new team Rangers newco ! how are they going to get their 40,000 fans into Elgin City's ground that only usually has about 300 ?

Re: Footie Thread...................
have to disagree with you about Arsenal, something tells me
this will be their year!
Just been having a quick read of the Rangers stuff, dont really understand it, why are they creating a new team, why cant they use the original team
What has Ally McCoist done with his hair, looks different, didnt it use to be curly.

Dont know Chez, something about the 'Administration' I just picked up on it today. The Scottish clubs had to vote wether or not they (Rangers) could stay in the league and they voted for them to be relegated to Div 3 which more or less means playing their games against the pub teams in the Scottish Hills !

Oh I see, so maybe Ally has had his curly hair cut off as the sheep on the hills
in the summer will have their coats shorn off, perhaps preparation for that!

Yes the mighty Tottenham! I don't mind Arsenal either, they play good entertaining football though I think they might struggle a bit if RVP goes to Man City, which looks likely now that they have let Adebayor go for only £5 million. Though I wouldn't underestimate Wenger, I think he has done really well keeping Arsenal a top 4 team without spending much and keeping wages low. I think both Arsenal and Spurs are in a good financial state than most people realise
@ wjk...Nothing wrong with man utd fans. I love the good fun banter Believe me I get enough of it being a spurs supporter!

Its great to see Spurs doing so well over the last few years and with Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs now
regularly in the top 5-6, we need to get West Ham up there now, I really hope they will have good
season now they are back in the Premiership where they belong.

Well being an Arsenal fan I wouldnt know about that jd!
Not very common for the Gunners to get a 5 - 0 hammering.
