Very sad news - I was also hoping she would be found alive - just a normal runaway.

Body of Celina Cass Found

Authorities have confirmed that a female body recovered from the Connecticut River near the Canaan Hydro-Dam is that of an 11-year-old New Hampshire girl missing since July 25. The body of Celina Cass was found by a dive team in the river that divides New Hampshire and Vermont.

Investigators are treating her death as suspicious, an autopsy is scheduled to determine cause of death.

"We have brought Celina home," said Assistant Attorney General Jane Young, "It's not the way we wanted to bring her home."

State Fish and Game Department divers apparently located Celina's body in the river around 10:45 a.m. Monday. At that time the area was blocked off and members of the media were asked to leave the area. Her body was not pulled from the river until around 5 p.m.

Now a Criminal Investigation

Based on information gathered at the scene of her recovered body, investigators are now treating the case as a criminal investigation. "Based on what we have seen visually, we are treating it as suspicious," Young said.

Family members said they last saw Celina at her West Stewartstown home in her bedroom on Monday, July 25, playing on her computer shortly before she usually went to bed. When they went to wake her up the following morning, she was not there.

During the weekend, Celina's father, Adam Laro, pleaded through the media for her safe return. Monday morning, her stepfather, Wendell Noyes, was taken by ambulance to a hospital after collapsing in the driveway of his home.

So I just went over her step-father's friend list. Almost all 154 friends are, young, scantly clad, and excuse my language, look like strippers. Isn't he married and dad to 2 at least 2 young girls??? Not sure who else lived in the home, but I'm telling you someone in that home is responsible for her death.!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes we have seen his webpage and their is something unsavoury about him.....but saying that, when you add someone to your 'friends'..don't you go look at who this person has as other friends BEFORE you add him!






He was found rolling about outside his house and taken to hospital Monday morning......I don't know if it was BEFORE they found celina's body or after.

Perhaps he was caught doing something he should not off been doing.

I think their was another teenager living in the home with them.

Still no cause off death, yet.

They can still get a cause of death. I remember a case here in Ireland where the girl was weeks in the water and they could still tell she was strangled. Cant think of her name off hand. Ill have a look and see if i can find her name

Well they must be keeping something from us.



I listened to the women detective speaking and she slipped up by saying....'when she was put Into the water'....the journo picked up on the....'put into the water' bit.

Apparently,the attorney general, who was brought In from the beginning .. she doesn't do missing people, she does homicides.


They know more than their letting on and aren't saying anything in case it predjudies a future trial.

Celina Cass vanished from her New Hampshire home just last week and her body was found less than a mile away from her house. They way her body was found in the water has led police to label her death suspicious, and they have launched a criminal investigation.

Now, we’re awaiting new test results on the body of the 11-year-old. The first autopsy did not answer any questions about her suspicious death.

Although police say her death wasn’t an accident, what might have brought them to this conclusion? Cyril Wecht, forensic pathologist, says, “It may well be related to the clothing, the array or the absence of clothing is the only thing I can think of. As much as no determination has been made regarding the cause of death. I do not believe then that there’s any evidence of significant injuries. Although, there could possibly be some bruises or scratches.”

He tells Alisyn Camerota how it may be hard – and most likely impossible – to identify and test any trace evidence due to the body being submerged in the water … especially after the heat wave the country’s been facing.

“I think that the fact that they have not come up with a cause of death, leads me to believe that it is either going to be a drowning or asphyxiation, which will have left no marks.”

When asked if experts can make a determination as to suffocation or strangulation being the cause of death when a body is found in water, Wecht says it’s not easy.

“It is very difficult. Suffocation and strangling are exclusionary diagnoses, even with a fresh case, meaning that we have to exclude everything else and we have to have good circumstantial evidence to suggest that.”

Celina's stepfathers BROTHER is a convicted sex offender.


He lives a mile away from her home and the river she was found in runs in between where he lives and celina lives.

Celina Cass’ Home Searched Again for Clues

After Celina Cass’ body was found on Monday in the Connecticut River, police have been investigating the cause of death, searching her home – where she was last seen – on Wednesday for answers.

Her body was recovered a few days later in the river, close to a hydroelectric dam near her home, local reports revealed.

Though authorities suspected no signs of trouble in the home when the search initially launched according to Fox News, police now believe foul play was involved in the death of the young girl “based on what [they had] seen visually.”

Whether the family members are connected to what appears to be an evolving homicide case still remains unclear.

New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young told The Boston Globe, “Now because we are treating this as a suspicious death, we are going back [to the house] to see if there’s any evidence that could assist in our criminal investigation.”

The Globe reported that police cars were seen outside of the Cass home Wednesday morning, where investigators thoroughly searched for clues. A Ford pickup was also taken from the home, possibly belonging to the stepfather or mother, and perhaps able to provide some answers to the case.

Recent autopsy results yielded no conclusive evidence as of yet, and investigators are waiting to hear back from the toxicology reports.

Although police have yet to identify any suspects, they have questioned the girl’s stepfather Wendell Noyes, who had a history of schizophrenia and was even arrested in 2003 for threatening his ex-girlfriend.

The girl’s biological father, Adam Laro is still alive and told CNN recently that he does not understand why anyone would want to hurt his daughter who he described as “very kind in spirit.”

He told reporters that when he last saw her, she seemed happy both at home and at school. But Laro later revealed to WHDH-TV his suspicions about the stepfather, whose odd behavior during the recent events fueled further questions.

Noyes was seen rolling around in his driveway a few hours before Cass’ body was discovered.

“We have our own suspicions,” Marica Laro, Cass’ grandmother told WHDH-TV, “but we can’t say anything.”

The family and local residents are hoping investigators quickly solve the case, unsettled in the mystery surrounding the death and in fear of their own safety as well.

They are keeping a tight lip about who they think has done her harm in case the suspects name gets in the news and it predjucies a trial.

Authorities said Monday there appears to be no connection between Celina Cass, the Coos County 11-year-old murdered 17 months ago, and Israel Keyes, a serial killer whose victims included a couple in neighboring Vermont. Keyes was found dead in his Anchorage, Alaska, jail cell Sunday.

Keyes has been implicated in the disappearance and believed murder of an Essex, Vt., couple in early June 2011, nearly two months before Cass was reported missing from her West Stewartstown home and then found a week later submerged in a Connecticut River impoundment.

Keyes, who was awaiting trial in the random abduction-murder of an Anchorage woman in February, also disposed of her body in water, using a chain saw to cut through ice and then slip her body into a lake outside of Anchorage.

A federal prosecutor in Alaska told the New Hampshire Union Leader that Keyes, 34, was not believed to be in New Hampshire during Cass' late July 2011 disappearance. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Feldis said investigators tracked Keyes' travel through credit cards, plane tickets and rental cars.

Records show he was in Alaska when Cass disappeared in late July.

"Our investigation indicates he was not in New Hampshire at that period of time," Feldis said.

Feldis said Keyes talked to investigators about several murders, and investigators believe he is responsible for four in Washington, one in upstate New York, the Vermont couple and Samantha Koenig, the 18-year-old Alaskan woman murdered in early February. He said Keyes never mentioned the Cass murder in his discussions with investigators.

He said authorities believe Keyes is responsible for more than seven murders.

"That's one of the tragedies here. We may never know what Israel Keyes did and may never know all his victims," Feldis said.

In New Hampshire, homicide prosecutor Jane Young said "our investigation into Celina's murder continues, and that death (of Keyes) does not impact the course of our investigation." She said state police did look into the possibility of Keyes involvement in the Cass murder after national news reported his connection to the disappearance of the Vermont couple, Bill and Lorraine Currier. Their bodies have not been found.

In January, New Hampshire authorities empaneled an investigative grand jury and called several witnesses involved in the Cass case, including people who were at the family's West Stewartstown home on the night of her disappearance. Nothing publicly has come of the grand jury work, and Young said she is barred from discussing grand jury proceedings.

She said leads still surface in the case, and investigators are reviewing past witness statements.

"There's not a week that goes by when I don't have contact with state police (about the Cass murder)," Young said. Asked if authorities have a suspect, she said, "At this juncture, we are not poised to make an arrest."

Before they can make an arrest, police need to assemble enough credible, admissible evidence to prove guilt, she said.

'Why not?' Officers reveal the only reason Alaska serial killer gave for murdering up to 12 victims in cold blood



Serial killer: Israel Keyes committed suicide in an Alaska jailhouse on December 2, leaving behind an incomplete picture of a loner who picked victims at random and methodically killing them

Confessed serial killer Israel Keyes admitted he enjoyed killing people but couldn't or wouldn't give investigators a more meaningful answer over his motive other than 'why not?'.

Keyes confessed to killing eight people across the United States, but alluded to additional murders. But officials may never know how many victims died from his hands, Keyes slit his wrist and strangled himself with bedding on December 2 at the Anchorage Correctional Facility in Alaska.

He was facing a March trial on federal murder charges in the kidnapping and death of an 18-year-old Samantha Koenig, who was abducted from an Anchorage coffee stand on Feb. 1st.

With his death, the FBI are revealing details of their interviews with the man.

'There were just times, a couple of times, where we would try to get a why,' Anchorage Police officer Jeff Bell, who helped interrogate Keyes for hours, said about their attempts to get Keyes to open up.

'He would have this term, he would say, `A lot of people ask why, and I would be, like, why not?'' Bell said.

'Based on some of the things he told us, and some of the conversations we had with him, we believe the number is less than 12,' FBI Special Agent Jolene Goeden said. 'We don't know for sure. He's the only one who could have ultimately answered that.'

Goeden and Bell conducted up to 40 hours of interviews with Keyes after his March arrest in Texas. During that time, Keyes confessed to killing Koenig, along with Bill and Lorraine Currier in Vermont, and five other people - although details for those victims were scarce.

Koenig was his only known victim in Alaska. Goeden and Bell said he never explained why his broke his own rule of never killing anyone in the town where he lived because it's easier to be connected to such a killing.

The only mistake Keyes said he made was letting his rental car be photographed by an ATM when withdrawing money in Texas.

Unlike his earlier killings, the deaths of the Curriers and Koenig received a lot of news coverage.

'He was feeding off the media attention in the end,' Bell said.

'He enjoyed it. He liked what he was doing,' Goeden said. 'He talked about getting a rush out of it, the adrenalin, the excitement out of it.'

They said his crimes started small with burglaries and thefts - until the urge escalated to murder.

Bell said Keyes told investigators the first violent crime he committed was a sexual assault in Oregon, in which he let the victim go.

Of the five other murders Keyes confessed to, four were in Washington state and one occurred on the East Coast, with the body disposed of in New York.

Authorities said Keyes said he had weapons caches or body disposal kits stashed across the country.

One such disposal kit was found north of Anchorage. It included a shovel, plastic bags and bottles of Drano, which he told authorities would speed the decomposition of bodies.

A murder kit found in upstate New York had weapon parts, a silencer, ligatures, ammunition and garbage bags.

During their interviews, Keyes was willing to talk about the Koenig and Currier killings since he knew authorities had evidence against him.

'It was chilling to listen to him. He was clearly reliving it to a degree, and I think he enjoyed talking about it,' Bell said of the Koenig and Currier deaths. But in the other cases, Keyes wasn't as forthcoming because he knew investigators had little on them.



Abducted: Keyes was tied to the death of Samantha 'Sammy' Koenig, a barista who vanished in February from her coffee stand workplace. Stolen: After killing Koenig, police said that Keyes used her phone to fake text messages from her and conceal the abduction.

Keyes, a construction contractor, told investigators that they knew him better than anyone, and that this was the first time he'd ever spoken about what he called his double life.

'A couple of times, he would kind of chuckle, tell us how weird it was to be talking about this,' Bell said.

Even though he was talking to investigators, Keyes didn't want his name made public in any of the other investigations, especially the Curriers, because of the fallout of publicity. He threatened to withhold information if his name got out.

'If there was nobody else that he was concerned about, I think he wanted his story out there. He wanted people to know what he did,' Goeden said. 'What he was worried about is the impact that was going to have on the people that cared about him and were close to him.'

Keyes will be buried on Sunday in Washington state.
