Peacocks where I live have shed 249 jobs , skeleton staff are being kept on to keep the shops open and Peacocks are still hoping for a Buyer.

I NOTICE THEY HAD LA SENZA GIFT CARDS,EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN NO ONLY BE USED.
ONE OF THE STAFF GENERIOUSLY CARRIED MY PURCHASE TO THE TAXI RANK AND WE TALKED ABOUT ARGOS'S PROFITS(DOWN FROM £54MILLION TO £3MILLION),SAID TRADE DROPS OFF AFTER CHRISTMAS AND THEY AT THE SHOP WERE MAKING SOME PROFITS.
HOW LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE SHOPPING ONLINE,SO DON'T GO INTO SHOPS SO MUCH.
SAID HOW SHOPS WERE CLOSING BECAUSE OF LESS PEOPLE SPENDING BECAUSE OF THE SITUATION.

With a debt of £784 million the Administrators have had 100 enquiries and apart from the 500 Head Office jobs , all the other jobs will be saved . Peacocks is well known for value and has branches in every Main street in Wales and the U.K.Offers

SUBWAY,THE SANDWICH SHOP BRANCH ARE TO EXPAND.

I dont like subway, imo there sandwiches are supposedly healthy when infact they are not, I saw a programe once and they compared the subway meatball mariniare sandwich in fat and calories to the same as eating 4 Macburger or 16 bag of crisps

When you look at what they sell, they have the small salad bar, but look at those sauces, processed meat, full fat cheese slices, then topped with full fat Mayo......

ONE THING THEY ARE SAYING ABOUT ONLINE STORES IS THAT MANY DON'T RESPOND PROMPTLY TO ENQUIRIES FOR BROCHURES AND PRODUCTS ETC.

Hi Badboy, there are several Buses from where I live going into Town and beyond so havn"t noticed that yet. Anyway, There are ample shops where I
live, even a Peacocks, so I seldom go into town.

My son said he did the ultimate in cheek just before Christmas. He went into Waterstone's to have a look at a book he was interested in, liked it, and then used his phone, while in the shop, to check the Amazon price and ordered it from Amazon while he was there!
