Murder of Pin-up model - policewoman arrested

A policewoman has been arrested for allegedly helping her son who is accused of murdering his Playboy pin-up ex-girlfriend, sources have said.

Amy Leigh Barnes was found stabbed to death in her home

The 49-year-old West Midlands officer was seized on the day her son, Ricardo Morrison, 21, appeared in court charged with killing Amy Leigh Barnes.

The 19-year-old part-time model and actress was stabbed to death on Saturday at her home in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Morrison, an amateur footballer and aspiring professional, was remanded in custody when he appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court.

His case was adjourned until November 19.

Privately-educated Amy Leigh had worked on modelling assignments for Playboy, Cosmopolitan and Nuts magazines.

She also appeared in the teen TV drama Hollyoaks.

Friends and family paid tribute to the 19-year-old, who was described as having "a personality so bright it just shone through".

Blackburn Rovers footballer Benni McCarthy, a friend of the model, paid tribute to her.

Other footballers also left comments on a Facebook tribute group to the model.

WTF?? A mother, who is also a policewoman helped her son cover up the murder?? Can this be right?

I know people use their positions to get by a whole lot easier but this is a murder for petes sake.

I agree with you here, IF she has aided her son, this is total abuse of her postion and would bring some embaressment to the police force.
