Thanks to mccannfiles.......too long to post all the entries but if you want to take time it is very revealing and you can comment on the
bits you want to highlight. Sorry, couldn"t post the link as well, but it is easy to find, just the heading on mcccannfiles.

JUST WANTED TO POIINT OUT THAT kATE WAS PAID BY THE NOTW AND THE SUN, SO WHY ARE THEY BRINGING THIS UP AGAIN?

Kate's Diary On 14 September 2008, the News of the World published extracts from 'Kate's Diary'. The newspaper claimed that the 135-page 'journal', written on an A4 pad, had been passed to them by a Portuguese reporter. When it became apparent that Kate had not given authorisation for its release, the online article was instantly removed. Both The Sun and the News of the World published apologies and made an undisclosed payment to Madeleine's Fund. Portugal's best-selling daily newspaper 'Correio da Manhã' had already serialised extracts from the diary during July 2008 without comment from the McCanns. This is another example of the McCanns only suing when it printed in English (Diary by NOTW on 14th September 2008).

I just tried to edit out all those red lines , but couldn"t.....it"s a pain, if someone else can tell me what to do, keep the article which makes the post much shorter,

The Diary really is revealing, our Kate was instrumental in getting the publicity and i"s true that Mitchell had a pact with the Press where they
all agreed not to print anything other than the information given to them.....that"s disgraceful.

There"s loads of incriminating stuff in there , twins not settling down until 9.30pm...so much for Gerry"s claim that they were all in bed asleep by 7.30pm etc.

The McCanns have been paid and looked after very well from NOTW and The Sun, along with the sucking upto from all the other UK Papers, so I would like to know why they are jumping on the bandwagon in Hacking Inquiry at the mo, I dont believe they are that stupid or not been advised, its all about their narcisistic personalities imo, they really really are lower then a snakes belly imo......

Its all going to change soon come Feb 2012

I was quite stunned at some of the antics of the McCanns, walks initiated so the Press could film them, Gordon Brown phoning Kate several times, the pulling strings to get the Pope to stop and speak to them.....

Good Morning to you Panda, our saving grace is that all these actions were when the McCanns could pull strings, when they (or they thought) were the golden couple, would they get all this now....

I hope your"e right , but to get themselves on Judge Leveson"s list shows someone with clout has done this, so they still have friends in high places. If you read the mccannfiles, Kate is the driving force in the beginning, Gerry hardly gets a mention. towards the end she suddenly realises that she has to show grief and all the wailing starts.

April 2008 Mitchell announces that the mccanns may write a book.


July 2008 a newspaper in Portugal serialised KM diary.


September 2008 KM wins award from NOTW for publishing extracts from the Diary which was no doubt copied and translated from the Portugal article which the PJ got the blame for..



She was rather pissed of that the newspapers got in first.

They were asked to do a re-enactment in march 2008 and they refused for a few reasons .One being that it would serve no purpose to do one at that late stage and they were worried about the media etc YET they did their OWN reconstruction a few months later stating that they hoped doing this will jog people's memories!

Kitti, Yeah, and they cocked up the faceless guy carrying Madeleine on his arms, forgetting that Gerry was recognised by Smith fore carrying one of the twins resting on his shoulder!!! Also claiming they hadn"t seen Jane Tanner when she was their alibi by saying she saw a Man
carrying a child !!!! Plus of course the Actress portraying Kate got paid for nothing because Mentorn apparently had difficulty with Kate"s
version of events.

I don"t understand why, but the Goverment and the Press have been behind the McCanns from day I. Before Madeleine disappeared they
were friends with Gordon Brown and the Blairs , probably due to Gerry reportedly being a Fund raiser for the Labour Party. In this capacity
he might have had information which would have embarassed the Cabinet.

so all that embarassment might be worth a child's life. I find that hard but not impossible to believe, but should that be the truth, then may they all get their dues. jimo

tanzi, do you remember the Operation Ore, a Police investigation .... Tony Blair put a D Notice on it, so I have no faith in British Politics,
when did anyone get a proper answer from the Government when they submit a FOI request?

Hiya Panda, yes I do remember Operation Ore. I also remember the case about that young girl and her mother in Scotland. It makes me so sick when those with power appointed by the public use that power to abuse who are least able to speak out for themselves, or be ignored and worse when they do. jimo

You will need an FOI request to get information on the Madeleine McCann review also according to my letter from the home office. This is a snippit.

And I have had a letter from the Home Office regarding the review in these terms:

"While Madeleine remains missing we will continue to do what we can in the search for her."

And regarding my request for an open and transparent enquiry. Look what I answer I got.

"Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the public has a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities. It also sets out exemptions from that right and places a number of obligations on public authorities. The Act applies to the vast majority of public authorities in the United Kingdom, including the MPS. Therefore.......is free to submit a request to the MPS for information relating to this case"

I'm not sure how the newspapers got hold of the diary if Kate didn't give it to them. The files don't contain a copy, just an instruction from the prosecutor for copies to be destroyed because it doesnt contain anything of interest to the police. It looks like it was somehow leadked from the PJ to the Portuguese paper around June or July 2007. Is this what happened? If so I can see why they got the blame. If not then how did the PT paper get it?

One question you could ask is why is Madeleine still a Ward of court . You understood this was at the suggestiuon of a QC sent to help the
Parents of Madeleine in Portugal within days of Madeleine going missing , Apparently in the event off the McCanns being charged with
anything the U.K Police would continue searching. Since the Mccanns have never been charged and Madeleine has been missing over 4 years
why have they not reclaimed Guardian ship of their Daughter.?

No need, as long as it is posted here or another ongoing Kate thread we will see it. Depends how long it takes for you to get a reply gillyspot,
if there are not any Kate threads still being used, by all means start a new one.

The letter wasn't to Kate McCann it was to the Home Office about the review.

Not a lot of point asking the Home Office why the McCanns haven't bothered to reclaim guardianship of their child. How would they know?
