Well said The Pottingshedder
"The McCanns and the press project a feeling of guilt onto the general public if they fail to donate. They aren't entitled to other people's money to keep their own company afloat. How do you think Kerry Needham has survived over the last two decades?"
The role of the UK press in all of this is lamentable. Not one editor has the guts to query them re their Fund when its screamingly obvious something stinks to high heaven about it. Never has so much financial support been given to a family of a missing child. People from all walks of life have donated, ranging from millionaires to children and pensioners who have dug deep into their pockets to keep the Fund topped up.
But its the attitude of the McCanns that is breath-takingly arrogant. Aided and abetted by the press, they continue to prey on the public purse in their belief it is other people's duty to keep the Fund afloat. How are they getting away with continuously bleating that 'no official police force is searching for Madeleine' when they have repeatedly refused to ask, as is their right, for the case to be re-opened? As the public are paying Dave Edgar's wages, perhaps the McCanns would allow us to have a peek through his paperwork to see what exactly he has done to further the search. And maybe they wouldn't mind explaining why they have employed Agencies with no track record of looking for missing children to search for Madeleine. Oh and what about the £500,000 paid to 'fraudster' Keith Hallogen out of the Fund...not a murmer from them about that. Come on Scotland Yard, perhaps a good place to start your review would be to investigate the McCanns' Fund.
The families of missing children must despair to see this greedy couple given so much financial support yet still complaining they don't have enough and want more.

Spot on Autumn, they stand condemned by their own public confession on TV as being plainly responsible for the absence of their daughter from the family home, (child neglect at the very least), without any public censure or reprimand from any Child Protection Agency ever being delivered.Autumn wrote:Well said The Pottingshedder
