Thanks pamalam. Some of those are awful. Some are horrendous.
In the one 8 months on, where they've just lengthened the chin and given her greasy brown hair, she looks like a delinquent. Wasn't this one done by the FBI? Do they have software to make everyone look suspect?
The rest are dreadful too - surely there must be some photographs of Kate and Gerry at that age? to work with, I mean. I've seen the Gerry one, bright red hair.
The one where they've added the changes such as 'less chubby face' - she looks as if she's just had cheek implants. A slight squint as well. Can't say any of them look believable.

Re: Madeleine aged 8 as US experts see her
They are just clutching at any straw which happens to be around. No-one can predict what someone will look like at any given age. When I look at pictures of my niece at 3 and one when she was 9, they do not even look like the same child. Now that she is 11 going on 12, she looks different again. Children alter so much and so quickly in their formative years. Come on McCanns, admit what we have known for years now.

Here the virtual image of Maddie, 8 years, with the appearance that the child might have if she was still alive.
The initiative, just days before the fifth anniversary of the death of the child, is part of the British tabloid "Sunday Express", which, as he had already done in the past, wrongly attributes the origin of the image of FBI experts in the United States. This is not the first time that tabloid publishes virtual images of Maddie, attributing their origin to the so-called experts related or belonging to the North American organization.
A manipulation that has been confirmed by Special Agent Ross Rice, FBI in Chicago .
"The virtual aging of Madeleine McCann has been achieved by Jovey Mae Hayes, not by the FBI," the agent wrote in April 2009 denying any relationship between the artist and the organization.
In the picture published Sunday, Maddie, who would have been about eight years, has more defined physical characteristics, a longer nose, lips slightly thicker and a more elongated face - which is explained by the natural growth of bone face.
According to the tabloid, quoting "experts" unidentified, Maddie would look now closer to adolescence, with a resemblance more assertive with her mother, Kate McCann.
The child would now have eyes and hair with a darker tone.
The disclosure of this new virtual image - the fourth - also coincides with the campaign to promote the new version of "Madeleine," Kate McCann's book ( details here ).
As a reminder, Madeleine McCann disappeared May 3, 2007 in Praia da Luz, southern Portugal.
According to her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, the loss would have occurred inside the room or the child was sleeping with her brother and sister.
The expert Jovey Mae Hayes also recently done Dianna, imo she would of looked better than this

If the parents are approving all these different images who knows what she looks like. Even Kate & Gerry don't know.
What chance a tipsy teenager on his holidays?
I think I'm going to be sick.
Unless I have missed something, it doesn't seem as if the McCanns have had any input in these pics and it appears that the papers have taken it upon themselves as per usual ?

And ignorant not to be aware that a young child who had been away from her family for two years would be traumatized all over again to suddenly be placed in an environment she would probably not recognise, with parents who would be like strangers and two siblings, she not only never spent much time with, but who would have changed a lot anyway.

Their words and emotions re Madeleine's "situation she now finds herself in" are always so deeply inappropriate, simply because they have zilch personal experience of an abducted child!

Is it his sub-conscious talking though. I think many of the terrible comments they make are made in the knowledge of what happened. The comments make no sense in the case of a child being abducted and missing and are very un-fitting for the circumstances but are natural and normal in the case where somebody has died.
Anybody who has lost a loved one wishes to turn the clock back and return to the way things were before the tragedy struck and make things like they used to be. This is a natural reaction.
When we hear the McCanns making these comments whilst at the same time telling us she is with strangers, they make no sense to us, appear mis-placed and just heartless under the circumstances.
If you think about them in the context of a child they know to be dead they make more sense and are more fitting to those cirsumstances, a lot of the time anyway.

Re: Madeleine aged 8 as US experts see her
They are attempting to replace a real devastation with false devastation. Both situations are catastrophic tragedies, but very different experiences. I believe they cannot allow themselves to conjure up real thoughts of Madeleine during an interview, as it would be nigh impossible not to speak of her in the past tense, and hence very perilous. The result is empty, void, repetitively rehearsed phrases with inappropriate expressions and gestures.
A dangerously awkward situation to be in..... and it shows!

Spot on pennylane...
I think you are right. They also can't think about the real Madeleine too much, not only for fear of 'tripping up' with the use of the past tense, but because it would be genuinely too distressing. The tabloid Madeleine, mostly seen through a distinctive, approved set of photos, is almost a fictional character. You can talk much more easily about a fictional character. I bought book Kate's book because I had no idea at all about what the real Madeleine was like... and she was nearly four... She would have been well full of chatter, and character, and opinions and likes and dislikes as children are at that age. Apart from some early pages on her as a young baby with severe colic, which did seem vivid to me (that must have been tough for Kate to deal with) I got no sense of the girl herself at all. The book was mostly about her mother, and her mother's feelings and reactions. There was not much about the PDL holiday or the circumstances of her going missing either. If the parents were to speak about the real child, as opposed to the media version, they might easily fall into extreme unhappiness or depression... whatever actually happened to her.

I think HiDeHo featured it on one of her videos, with the McCanns talking with someone from the missing children organisation in the US.
ETA: the video is on page 4 of this thread.

No mention of this photo or the Panorama programme on their FB page. In fact no comment from them for 6 days by the look of it. Very few people seem to post there these days.

I really detest that picture on the right. She just looks like she could do with a good scrub. I'd be sick if my child were mocked in this horrible way.
