What I don't understand is Kates criticism about it not being clear they were her fathers. When I saw the video, way back when, I could see they were issued in her fathers name, in fact they were dispensed by a chemist in the name of McCann. That was always clear to me, from first viewing.
Why is she talking about it now ? Very strange.
But surely her father's name is Healy?
My apologies, I did not phrase that well. I should have said a chemist by the name of McCann. So the chemist, co-incidently, was called McCann and yes the packets were in the name Healy.
No apology required. Incredible that the chemist was called McCann. All these coincidences involving the McCann name are enough to do anyone's head in. Did you manage to get a look at the full name, because Ms. Kate always referred to herself as Healy?

Kate McCann’s anger over Antenna 3′s footage on items found in apartment
06May
“The tablets shown were actually my father’s Parkinson’s disease medication, as was confirmed by the patient’s name on the packets, conveniently out of shot, and not, as the voiceover suggested, sedatives that we had administered to our children.”
Sunday Express online May 6th, 2012
The discerning viewer would have been able to make out the prescription label on the box, illustrated by the following images -
One of the books was a novel Gerry had taken to Portugal as holiday reading, The Interpretation Of Murder, a best-selling historical crime thriller inspired by a visit made to New York by Sigmund Freud in 1909, presumably singled out for no other reason than its sinister title.”
(Ibid)
A highly plausible explanation, however, the article does not address how restricted access CEOP investigative manuals happened to be in their possession.

As this is such an odd thing as an addition to a book about a lost child does anyone else think, like me, that they have put this out there for all to see as they know this is the direction the investigation is taking and they are getting in first?

Yep! I think it was a base not covered before. We had 6 dead bodies, soiled nappies and rotting meat, Madeleine's sandals on Amelie and dogs directed by Martin Grime. What's next? I think that epilogue has been written to explain a few things.
Re: Express 06/05/12
For reference:
The July Calendar shows a lot of the information around that time.
Jon Corner and the Healeys arrived on August 1st, but that was a time that the phone pings showed a lot of strange activity, (the 'Triangle')shortly after the airing of the car trunk. The trip to Huelva etc.
I compiled the info together but haven't studied it in full...Maybe there is some important info for anyone who has a few minutes
JULY CALENDAR
http://forum2.aimoo.com/MadeleineMcCann/category/JULY-Calendar-with-Phone-Pings-1-911585.html
I also have the villa search video, which I believe was removed from xklamation's library for viewing in UK (not sure on that) so if it is of any help I can arrange to upload it.

T4Two, I remember the labels being very clear and if I am correct even the address of the chemist was quite visible. The images I speak of are not the ones posted above, with various packets. I have never seen them before.
I cannot look now as I have a problem with my internet connection running slow, it will not play videos. Will see what they say when I am back up and running.

Or maybe it is just a matter of dismissing those things that are easily dismissed to obfuscate other issues. I am not aware the PJ or Amaral have suggested these drugs were used for any nefarious purpose. In fact the only "sedative" ever mentioned was Calpol. What the Express article clearly shows though is there isn't anything new in the "epilogue" if this is the best of it.

For people that haven't even read the files or looked at the videos off he dogs in the apts....why she informing people that there are images off drugs in these videos when alot off people didn't even know about it but will do now...
Very odd indeed.
Classic McCann get the info out there before it becomes general knowledge , always too much info they never know when to shut up.

The date on those tablets is 19th May and contains 28 tablets, so how come he has them there during the august visit if he had to take them daily they would have all gone by that date.

Yes and even though prescription would be for 6 or 12 months I am confident that the drugs have to be collected monthly. So the drugs dated 19th May would have been made up on that date for that month.

The bottle says 3 time a day, so that is 9 days.
Doesn't sound very many to issue for someone with a chronic condition. Perhaps they were only prescribed after Madeleine went missing.
Even if he already had some from a previous prescription, one would expect them to have gone by early August

IMO your comment that this has been written to combat any questions which may arise in the future is correct. The whole rant is a ploy to create the impression that the drugs, dogs and books are all simply false accusations by a Spanish TV station. As always the devil can be found in the detail, but that has never been a problem for them because everything they have come out with since the beginning has always been taken at face value and become part of their version of the truth.

I was referring to the amantadine as twice a day. Interestingly one of the side effects is a twitching chin as mentioned by the taxi driver

Re: Express 06/05/12
Assuming the tablets were for Kate's father (and we discussed this at great length on another thread months ago - where we looked carefully at the names of the medication and established that they're all consistent with a Parkinson's diagnosis) and given they're in her father's name, dispensed in Liverpool and in the villa after the parents' visit, I see no reason to be suspicious of them. Kate's parents may well have slept in the McCanns' bedroom and then forgotten to take the tablets back to the UK with them when they returned to the UK. There were enough visitors to Portugal after that to have taken the tablets back to the UK with them to return them (by post even?) to Brian Healy, or if the PJ took them as evidence, Kate's dad would have been able to arrange to have more supplies prescribed to him to make up for the shortfall.
I assume the CEOP manual was given to Gerry McCann at one of his many meetings with them.
The holiday reading material, reviewed here, http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/31/books/31masl.html sounds like it was just that - a book he took with him to read on holiday (possibly a gift given to him that he never got round to reading) and doesn't necessarily have anything whatsoever to do with murder.
Those are my thoughts, anyway.

If he was a long term user of those meds he could easily have been prescribed enough for a few months.
