Maybe Kate can't go back to work Panda. You may or may not remember the visit the McCanns had from Social Services and a police officer, the day after the arrived home from PDL.

Hi kathybelle, kate was working one and a half days a week in a Doctor's Practice but apparently had time off before the Holiday which makes a nonsense of the 6 Cadaver inquestes she supposedly attended before the Holiday. I will say this, with twins and their Sister, all under 4 to care for ,
it must have been a strain, especially since Madeleine was a handful and didn't sleep well.Kate writes in her Diary that Gerry wasn't much help, studying for the Research Grant and playing Golf. They had a row in PDL and Kate moved into the Twins room one night.I think Kate, as an only child was used to having her own way and I really don't know why they went for a second IVF treatment . There is 20 months between Madeleine nad the Twins so
Madeleine would have only been 11 months old when Kate became pregnant. Add to this the upheaval of the move from Queniborough to Rothley and
I read somewhere she was still on Maternity leave.

When S.S and the police officer had left, Gerry spoke to the media, first of all he said that he and his wife had invited these people to their home. Then said that he and his wife had been told that their baby sitting arrangements, were well within the boundaries of normal parenting. Gerry then told the media that his wife would not be returning to work, because her job now, was to look after the twins.

However in various media interviews the McCanns have given since that day, if the subject of her returning to work has cropped up, she has always said she won't be returning to work as a doctor. She has always said her job is to sift through the files, to see if the PJ had missed anything that could have resulted in Madeleine being found.

I don't know if the reasons I have given are the real reasons why Kate is not returning to work. Kate was only a locum and maybe no one wants to employ her anymore. Do you know if Kate is still registered as a doctor?

By the way Panda, in the video "Clarence Mitchell, Spinning for the McCanns and Jane Tanner. Clarence was speaking to the media, shortly after the McCanns successfully got Goncalo Amaral's book banned. Clarence Mitchell who was gloating, said how right it was that the book was banned.

He also spoke about other stuff, I can't quite remember what. He was then asked questions about the fund, he said that the only money remaining in the fund was money the McCanns had received from compensation and donations from their wealthy backers. He said he was sure the donors to the fund, wouldn't mind the McCanns and their wider family, using the fund to assist their finances.

I remember reading an article online, where Brian Kennedy, one of their wealthy backers, said he would no longer be paying the salary of Clarence Mitchell. The article then went on to say that Mitchell's would now be paid out of Madeleine's fund. I read another article much much later, where the McCanns had asked Brian Kennedy for money because the fund was in dire straits. According to the article, Brian Kennedy refused to give them money. The article went on to say that the McCanns decided to have the book that Kate was writing for their 3 childrens eyes only, published.

The articles I read online were media articles, so they may or may not be true.

Hi MaryB, if you remember, Clarence said at one time there was talk of a Book, but without any proof about what happened to Madeleine, the Government Interference, etc they would be hard pushed to keep the Auduence attention for one and a half or two hours. , Kate's role in the CH4
Documentary ended up on the cutting room floor,

I remember Ben Affleck had made a film about an abduction bbut was concerned about Madeleine so much he delayed the releasee. I saw the film ,
it was about an abduction but the child came from a poor Family and was abducted by Morgan Freeman for his wife if I remember correctly and the
child was being brought up in a much nicer home.

Which, if Maddie is alive, would be the best possible outcome. Imo of course.

I have to correct you there kb, the exact wording was 'reasonable' (parenting), now if you were going to describe someone as a parent you'd want to be excellent, great, wonderful, etc but not reasonable.... That sounds to me like you're only just scraping through as a parent!

I am of the opinion that the McCanns along with their mates, did leave their children unsupervised when they went out. If they didn't who looked after the children? The group including the mother of one of their Tapas mates, were all in the Tapas Bar, every night apart from the first night, when they all went to the Millenium restaurant.
