GERRY MCCANN talks about taking part in his third Etape Caledonia event and daughter Madeleine's birthday. The etape is an 81-mile race which starts and finishes in Pitlochry. About 5000 people took part on Sunday morning.

His THIRD Etape Caledonia event? My my, he plays tennis, jogs, plays golf. Quite the little athlete isn't he. No wonder he's so "fit"!!!!!

Did I hear him right? Saying that he wasn't raising money because the fund was ok due to Kate's book! Better tell clarry then because he was bleating a couple of weeks ago that next year the fund would need to be topped up.

Anyway, imo totally selfish, as the event usually raises funds for Marie Curie, so why couldn't he have been generous and actually given money to a real charity.

Gosh I can see the resemblance between father and (abducted) daughter in this video.

He just managed to censor himself at 1:16, saying that this one was 'just for a bit of fun enjoyment'...

How can anyone think of fun when their child is dead in the clutches of a bundleman?

Nice to see them both so healthy these days! Mr Amaral's book is obviously so upsetting for them.

Wintabells - just another insensitive line they both seem to say imo. Loving and craving the limelight is how it appears to me. They think they're celebs and there'll be more this week with the visit to number 10. IMO they just appear to be insincere and don't realise how they come across to most people.

Was Cameron FORCED to have the mccanns there?

Missing children.....Kate McCann is supposedly going to be there and we look forward to seeing her standing on the doorstep off no. 10.....perhaps she harbors secret desires to one day.....be living there!

and it's amazing how many of these 'missing' children (under 10 anyway) are, in fact, with their parent/s. Often it seems children are taken during a custody visit or flown abroad in a tug of love-type-scenario.

The only 'missing' child listed in Portugal is Madeleine McCann.

There are no white, caucasian, blonde, missing girls from the Netherlands listed in the past 10 years.... just out of interest.

The McCanns must feel really out of place when they go to these fund-raising do-s, being the only parents of a child who was taken from her bed by a stranger while they dined in a nearby Tapas restaurant with a large group of friends....

Erm ... well actually it's all a bit of fun. If you've got a skin like a rhino you don't notice, especially if you are convinced that the whole thing is for your benefit and everyone else is just there to make up the numbers.

Yes, one of the few things known about Jacqueline McCann is that her birthday is on 12th May. She for whatever reason has not joined in the McCann Family Circus.

I often wonder what the parents of legitimately missing children think of the McCanns while in their company at these missing children events.

I would assume that they are not in possession of all the facts of the case and accept the McCanns as being as genuine as they are. I don't know how they could bear to be in their company otherwise.
