Missing 96-year-old woman from Brighton

Police in Brighton are becoming increasingly concerned for a 96-year-old woman who has not been seen since Tuesday morning.

Nellie Herriott, who lives in Brighton, was last seen by staff at the BHS cafe in Churchill Square around lunchtime. A neighbour then called police yesterday to say she had not returned home.

Nellie is described as white, of medium build, 4' 9" tall, with short curly hair. She was wearing a blue coat and black hat.

A police spokesperson said: "Nellie is clearly vulnerable due to her age and she also suffers from Alzheimers which can cause her to become confused. It's now been two days since she was last seen and we're very anxious to hear from anyone who thinks they may know where she is.

"Nellie is very mobile and regularly travels on the bus to different parts of the county, but she used to go to the BHS cafe in Churchill Square on a daily basis and was well known by the staff.

"If anyone thinks they have seen Nellie then we would urge them to call police as soon as possible on 101, quoting reference number 1448 of 25 April."
