Since the Metropolitan Police began their review of Madeleine’s case in May 2011, thankfully the demands on ourselves and our investigators have reduced. However we still have (and need!) a small team of very committed and experienced people working hard to help us find Madeleine and others available to step in and assist should the need arise.

The 24-hour ‘hotline’ for people to call with information is still functioning on 0845 838 4699 for people who would prefer to contact us directly.

Along with a campaign coordinator and translators/interpreters, the team has several individuals with invaluable marketing, advertising and I.T. skills who help with the general campaign to find Madeleine.

Of course probably the biggest and most valuable resource we have in our search for Madeleine is the eyes, ears and minds of the general public. Thank you to everyone who has, and continues to help us with our efforts to find her. Please keep going!

Of course it is. Nothing like generating hundreds of useless sightings to keep the police occupied and divert attention. Somehow though I have a feeling that the tactic is wearing a bit thin.

So why the f&%k didn't they use these most valuable resources the night Maddy supposedly went missing instead of sitting in their apartment, discussing the wider agenda.
If ther McCanns & Co are so happy about this review....why are they putting this garbage out again and again, or yes Ive just relised they want anyone with genuine information to call them and not SY.

So smaller team equals less expenditure. What happens to the money in the company's bank account ?

Surely you don't need a 'general campaign' right now? You have two crack police teams in two countries working at full tilt for you.

After more than five years in which the general public have patently failed to produce anything useful whatsoever it's difficult to see how one can describe that zero contribution as a valuable resource in the search for Madeleine, unless by 'search' something else is meant entirely such as distracting the official investigation as an attempt to evade justice. IMO the clue lies in the use of the word 'minds'. That's what it's been about from the outset - influencing the minds of the general public. They have always acted as though the whole thing is a reality TV show and that getting the public onside proves in some way that they are not guilty of any involvement. It doesn't of course and they are deluded if they think it does. IMO all they have achieved is to waste a lot of other people's money and delayed the inevitable by several years.

Brain dead or perhaps someone who knows something and would prefer to have a slice of the millions involved rather than taking their knowledge to plod and coming away empty handed after the tedious business of giving a statement?

ETA - As a matter of interest, didn't Mrs Murat have the same notion that people might prefer to speak to her rather than the police?

What demands would those be Gerry? Oh, I forgot, touring Europe to promote Kate's Book . Kate writing her "Epilogue", you negotiating the Fee no
doubt. UUM, which investigators would those be Gerry, not Eddie surely? He has been employed by the Fund for over two years and all he could come
up with is the Barcelona fiasco and something about Madeleine in a House in Portugal in the Countryside (something like that.)

I wonder what will be their reaction when next year, or maybe the end of this year, Scotland Yard end the Review having exhausted all possible leads.

Will the McCanns have egg on their faces ????

Ah but malena.......look at all the money they have received. £1 MILLION from the Sun and Times for serialisation of Kate's book, a "substantial" advance
from Transworld and now they don't even have to pay Eddie, Scotland Yard are searching for Madeleine. Yet they still have the nerve to ask Holidaymakers to buy the "Packs" to display in their Holiday resort !!!!!!

Hi cass, hope you are feeling much better , Iv'e never had shingles but apparently it's quite nasty. The Mccanns are due in Court on September 1st (please God) and much depends on the outcome of this Trial IMO. I think Amaral will win because there is no way the McCanns can say the Book hindered their search , nor didi it affect the health of them and the twins. It was published in Portugese for goodness sake. !!!!! If they lose the case, Amaarl will sue them for Damages and Legal Expenses , not forgetting The Publisher who was constrained to sell the Book for such a long time. The
SY Review I think will be completed at the end of the Year and if no evidence of neglect by the PJ is found the McCanns support will disappear in a
puff of smoke .
