Murat meeting with Kennedy

Brian Kennedy, the home improvements tycoon backing the McCanns, admitted yesterday that he flew to Portugal last November and spent an evening with Robert Murat, apart from the McCanns the only other official suspect. A source close to Kennedy said he was “gathering information”.

Kennedy’s lawyer, Ed Smethurst, approached Murat through a mutual friend and said that Kennedy wanted to offer him a job.

But the job offer never transpired. Kennedy spent the evening with Murat and his lawyers at his aunt’s house in Praia da Luz, discussing Madeleine’s disappearance.

Now why would Kennedy offer Murat a job????

He left with a "flea in his ear" after being confronted over reports that Metodo 3, the McCanns' private investigators, had suspicions about Murat.

How many potential employers do that, I wonder - arrange a meeting to offer someone a job and then spend all evening discussing a notorious criminal case ....

IMO just another attempt (amongst many, and by several) to intimidate and pester anyone of interest to TM.
Get some dirt on them, or find out what they know which could be detrimental, then try to 'persuade' them otherwise.

Ham-fisted, transparent, gangsterish.
And ultimately counter-productive.

Kennedy is a shady character, had a couple of Companies struck off for not filing accounts , has apparently over 20 "shelf" Companies , owes £millions
to RBS and £7 million to a Bank in Canada I think and renaged on both Banks promise to repay . That's why I have never believed he was paying the
Investigators Fees. When you think that Metodo 3 and Halligen specialised in money laundering, you can guess the rest.

I have never been able to get to grips with just why Kennedy was allowed to "interfere" with witnesses involved in this case. Surely his actions were illegal and highly suspicious at the very least.

It proves one thing - Kennedy's actions go way, way beyond those of your average arms-length benefactor.

Why would someone with a whole bunch of companies to run, not to mention his sports interests, feel the need to be so 'hands on' over the case of two provincial doctors?

And what has he achieved with his personal machinations, apart from making a murky saga look downright sinister?

I suspect he saw the Fund as a useful tool to transfer money, not a genuine Benefactor . The man is worse than DelBoy, he liiquidated a Company
where hundreds of people had paid deposits for Windows , he has no conscience.

The whole thing has been highly suspicious from day one , the circumstantial evidence against the whole group should have set alarm bells ringing from the get go and only Amaral and a couple more could actually see this and my goodness how he has suffered for his beliefs.

In view of Kennedy's background this should ring alarm bells for the Police that he has any
association whatsoever with the 'fund'. If it was Kennedy who was responsible for the hiring
of Metodo 3 and Halligen specialising in money laundering then this should be setting of more alarm bells with the Police about the so called fund frequently marketed as a charity with most of the money looking like it was not spent on looking for Madeleine, etc.

I remember reading a long time ago about the sighting in Morocco. Kennedy apparently flew there in his plane and got a young boy tour guide taking
holidaymakers on Camel rides that he would pay him for any information.
