Imo it's not just the eyes, the mean little mouth helps the impression of contempt I often see on that face. It's a blessing he doesn't operate on anyone. Good morning Tigger. I don't think that GM will be worried about his work colleagues not liking him, he has friends in far higher places now. If anyone it would be KM who would have been hurt and offended. However now she has written two books, even though garbage, and of course her new title she too is on a high of self importance.
As an aside, whilst watching the opening ceremony last night I fully expected to see them in the audience, but thank heavens I didn't, that would have been a cringe too far for me.

Ah! But had things gone right, they'd have been selected to run with the Olympic torch at prime venues - that sort of thing will never happen now. They would certainly have been in the VIP box - so?

Incidentally, the 10 year anniversary of the murder of the Soham girls has been covered in the DM and various other media - but not a whisper about Madeleine or the McCanns - which I'm sure would have happened if they had their way. Not a whisper about the missing people charity.
Now - if that wasn't a prime news item to hijack I'm a wombat. So that didn't happen, are the powers that be trying to lose the Maddie case amongst the thousands of missing people?

Tigger, I can't see that the McCanns would want to remind people of the Soham girls case as it had a tragic ending and they (the McCanns) are of course promoting the idea that their daughter is alive and out there waiting to be found - not by them of course but let's not be petty!

NBY, yes the Soham case had a tragic ending but here the parents were responsible and two girls were lured into the house of the evil school caretaker - Team McCann want to be associated with responsible parents to untarnish their image as best they can.

Wonder why lawyers did not approach the Soham families days after their daughters vanished and persuade them to set up a Fund?

Yes indeed James! I am unaware of any other case in the world where a fund was set up so quickly and has attracted such controversy in the way that it has been managed. I'd definitely class No Stone Unturned as a normal business enterprise set up with the hope of making a profit for those involved in it.

By the way, there is a programme at 9 p.m. on Friday, 3rd August on ITV1 about Holly Wells' family and how they have coped with the loss of their daughter.

Remember his arrogant Friends Re-United entry along the lines of "Who's not doing well?", which he had the presence of mind to delete shortly after the disappearance of his first-born child when he saw that it was commented on. If he was that distraught about the disappearance of his daughter he would have been physically looking for her and not sitting at his pc feeling the need to delete comments he made on Friends Re-United.

So was Gerry actually out of work in April 2005? He stated that he was looking for a job. It certainly can't have been easy for the family if that was so but I've never heard that he'd been out of work.

There is a recording somewhere of Gerry sitting down at home sorting through Mail the McCanns have received with two large cardboard boxes in
front of him. One contains the "nasty mail " and the other has Maddie clearly written across it and contains letters of sympathy.

I wondered at the time why he would keep the nasty mail, wouldn't any normal Father burn it?

I've seen a clip like that but I don't remember Maddie being named (not that they ever called her that of course!) but a box with NUTTERS on it stands out in my mind - possibly that says a lot about me!
