Re: The Gaspar Scare /Unterdenteppichgekehrt
On the link there is a newspaper clip with the centre article -
Mccanns Defend their Action Against Detective, and to the right of that article is another article headed - A Sick Game, and to the left of the Mccann Article - an article headed Perverts Jailed!
Perhaps the newspaper is trying to tell us something!

The Gaspar Scare
English/Deutsch
The only mention of the Gaspar Statement in the media
Having come across my spreadsheet with the timeline of the whole case and filling in some bits and pieces today, I noticed something regarding the Gaspar statement I find odd.
I was always undecided about whether it was genuine concern of a friend of Kate's or an attempt to get David Payne in line with the cover-up. Now if we look at the timeline we first noticed the quite long delay for Katharina Gaspar to decide going to the police. Almost two weeks in the case of a missing child seems a long time but was explained by the fact that she did not know until then that DP had been on the trip as well. Nevertheless, if we consider the described incident properly, Gerry McCann was as much part of the scenario as DP and therefore it should not have mattered to her much if DP was with them on holiday or not. Gerry's reaction to the alleged Payne incident would have warranted the same concerns even if he had been alone in PdL. Just remember how very cleverly DP had always been brought into the focus of the Gaspar statement and not so much Gerry, even from us...
Now if we look at the date Katharina finally dragged herself to the police station we see that it was the 16th May, exactly one day after Robert Murat was pictured on every paper in Britain as the most probable perpetrator.
If you are considering going to the police in a case you are not sure about, waiting 13 days until you muster up the courage, would you not hold back a couple of days more when you find out that they found the alleged abductor not connected to your suspicion at all? You would save yourself the trouble of a false accusation if he turned out the one who had taken Maddie.
Or did it rather take 6 days of organising and convincing of the Gaspars to get them to the police station after the botched 2nd questioning on May 10th of Gerry McCann at the police station where he felt the need to throw in David Payne with two concocted sightings of Madeleine, one during Wednesday night (!) and one on Thursday around 18:30. IMO two sightings he just made up during the interview because he had been pushed into a corner or felt the need to confirm Maddie's presence at those two points in time.
Imagine David's reaction when he told him about it, he might not have been amused...

Maybe Katerina had already made up her mind to go and make the statement, and Robert Murat being in the news had no impact on her decision or the timing.

I thought the Gaspar statement had been held back by Leicestershire police until the October?

Yes, it was. Imo it is perfectly genuine and it would be normal behaviour NOT to run to the police immediately the 'abduction' happened. In any case, it's likely that the name of David Payne didn't immediately hit the headlines so it may not have been clear to her for several days that these were the same 'group' rather than just the McCanns.
It's also normal to deliberate for a time before committing oneself to an official statement. It implicates you forever once it down on paper and signed. So for me the Gaspar statement is one that came out of left field so to speak for the McCanns. They may well have learned about it from their over friendly LP who then held it back for five months or so.
This is inexcusable, since the cry of 'Paedophiles' was instigated by the McCanns and as early as one hour after the alarm was raised.
An English resident of the OC made a statement to the PJ that he was searching around the bushes near 5a and saw and heard Gerry say on the phone to someone that she'd been taken by a paedophile. He was surprised that this was established at this very early time.

heard Gerry say on the phone to someone that she'd been taken by a paedophile.
If Gerry said she'd been taken by a paedophile, that sounds like he was making a statement of fact.
Therefore did Gerry know she was with a paedophile who had taken her?
Kate was allegedly heard to say ' they've taken her' - does that mean they knew Madeleine was
with someone and that person they knew to be a paedophile?

What he/she is trying to say is...who cares if David Payne was there or not...Gerry was involved in the alleged reference to Madeleine so you would think the Gaspars would of spoken to the police a lot sooner...im not sure you would,it is an allegation that you would need to be pretty certain of if you were to take the step of informing the police
