What an earth has come over this teacher.
He looks intelligent enough.
For god sake his life is ruined.
He is 30 years old, he has lost everything, for what?
He will be arrested, he will be charged and put into prison and he will be labelled a 'sex offender' and put on the sex offenders list .
The girl ....in a years time she will be out and about and will off forgotten about him.
Oh lord, what a silly man.

Totally in agreement with you kitti. He's thrown away all those years of education and his marriage. He'll be on the sex offenders register and he won't be able to work with children. Is he planning to hide out in Europe for the rest of his life? He is indeed a very silly man.

You'd think that if a teenage wanted to run away, she'd pick something a bit more glamorous than a maths teacher.

There certainly wasn't a queue of people beating a path to the door of my maths teacher - he looked like Worzel Gummidge.
This isn't the first time there's been a scandal at this school with a teacher and pupils.

It's hard to see how they can stay away for very long - they can't have an indefinite supply of money.
I'm glad that Megan's parents want her back safe and that's all that matters. It certainly wouldn't have been like that many years ago when I was that age. A daughter who went off with an unsuitable boyfriend would never be allowed back home. You've made your bed and you must lie in it was the attitude then.

No surprise there! I can visualise only trouble if she is returned home against her will.

I think she will have to be as she is only 15. I think she goes home or she gets taken into care.

Megan Stammers, who went missing a week ago with her maths teacher Jeremy Forrest has been found in France.
The 15-year-old has been taken into protection and Forrest, 30, has been arrested, Sussex Police said.
They were found at around 12.15pm today UK time, although police would not reveal the exact location. According to French media the pair were found in Bordeaux.
Megan Stammers has been found safe and well in Bordeaux, France
The pair were both "safe and well", the force said.
Forrest has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction.
They were found as a result of information that came after the case received media coverage in France, police said.
A statement issued by Sussex Police said: "Their families have been informed and arrangements will now be made for Megan and Jeremy's safe return."
It comes after a British pensioner claimed she spotted Stammers in Paris.
Brigitte Ripley, 73, believes she saw the 15-year-old and her teacher Jeremy Forrest on the Champs Elysee.
Jim and Julie Forrest appealed for their son Jeremy to come home during a press conference
She told The Sun: "I noticed her as she had a similar bird patterned blouse to one of mine - I'm as sure as I can be that it was Megan.
"She was in front of me, a youngish girl with long, dark hair. She seemed well, she seemed fine. They were just like anyone else walking around in Paris. They looked like tourists."
On Thursday Forrest's parents tearfully begged their son to "come home" during a press conference.
Jim and Julie Forrest appeared alongside Sussex Police's Chief Inspector Jason Tingley, urging him to "please, please, get in touch".
In a quavering voice, Mr Forrest said: "Hi Megan, hi Jeremy, I hope this message reaches you and you are both okay.
"There are a lot of people back home that are desperate to hear from you.
"All I am asking is for one of you to make a call, send an email, so we know you are both safe.
"We are all here for you both. Please, please get in contact."
The last confirmed sighting of Stammers and Forrest - who taught maths at Bishop Bell C of E School in Eastbourne, East Sussex - was from CCTV cameras on board a Dover-to-Calais ferry at 9.30pm last Thursday.
The release of two images of the pair, arm in arm and holding hands, was intended to trigger a response from the public about their whereabouts.

God alone knows how well Winnie Johnson slept over the 47 or so years since Keith Bennett's murder, or if it was the first 48 hours that were the worst.

http://www.itv.com/news/story/2012-10-10/teacher-child-abduction-charge/
Teacher Jeremy Forrest has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with abducting a 15-year-old girl. The 30-year-old made an appearance at Eastbourne Magistrates' Court in East Sussex less than 24 hours after being extradited to Britain.
Forrest was charged with child abduction by Sussex Police after spending eight days in France with the girl last month, triggering a Europe-wide search.
He and the teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, were eventually found in Bordeaux on September 28.
Today Forrest, of Chislehurst Road, Petts Wood, south east London, spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and address in court.
Dressed in a grey jumper and with black hair swept to one side, he was brought from the cells in handcuffs by two dock officers. He sat and listened intently as no bail application was made by his solicitor.
Forrest was remanded in to custody by magistrate Nick Letherby and will reappear in the same court via video-link on October 17.

Of course I know the reason for it, but it's amusing to read that the name of the girl can't now be printed after it's been splashed all over the media previously.
I guess though that Sun readers won't have any memory of who she is!

The parents of a schoolgirl who ran away with her teacher are in hospital recovering from suspected suicide attempt, it emerged today.
They were carried out of their home on stretchers by an ambulance crew, reportedly suffering from a drugs overdose.
Last night the couple were said to be in a stable condition at Eastbourne Hospital, East Sussex.
They were found safe in the south-west French city of Bordeaux where he was arrested on a European warrant and the pair were returned to Britain.
Five police cars and two ambulances arrived at the parents' home in Eastbourne, on Wednesday night after the girl's mother rang the emergency services.
A neighbour told the Sun: 'The dad and his wife left on stretchers. Then there lots of camera flashes inside the house and evidence bags were carried out.
'A friend who lives close by was told by police they believed two people at the house had suspected overdoses.'
Held: The teacher hidden under a coat is led away from the magistrates court by French police after his extradition was agreed
Neighbours denied that the apparent overdose was connected to the girl running off with her teacher.
In a statement, Sussex Police said: 'A man and a woman have been taken to hospital in Eastbourne suffering from the effects of what is believed to be an overdose.
'Police were called to a house just before 8pm last Wednesday. On arrival they found the man described as very ill and the woman who is understood to have called the ambulance service. Both were then taken to hospital.'
The teacher was brought back to Britain and arrested on suspicion of child abduction after magistrates in Bordeaux agreed to his extradition.
Picturesque: The French city of Bordeaux where the teacher and schoolgirl were found safe
It emerged that the couple managed to evade capture after the teenager travelled on what is believed to be a passport belonging to her mother.
When the schoolgirl returned home, she took to Twitter to express her gratitude for messages of support she had received from the public.
But she soon closed her Twitter account after receiving some abusive messages, although the majority were supportive.

Re: Missing teenager "runs away with her teacher" FOUND IN FRANCE
It's a strange story because of the family situation of the girl concerned, I'll just call her M because we aren't supposed to name her now.
Her mother lives with her new partner and I presume that the same goes for her father who was actually her stepfather. Not to mention her biological father who apparently has no contact with her!
So which set of parents are we talking about?

If I remember, the girl was 15, by today's standards 15 yr olds are well grown up and if this girl comes from a dysfunctional family maybe she should have been left to be with someone who really cared for her.
