Re: Parents of Madeline McCann make their first trip back to Donegal since her disappearance
That would be the second time in their lives they've visited Donegal, that hub of ancestral life!
Recently I read somewhere that they'd been many times, however in the bewk Healy tells us that it was their first trip to Donegal. The whole Donegal story imo is highly improbable.
Three photographs to account for a family reunion of about 26 to 46 people (accounts vary). Maddie imo is clearly shopped into the photographs. Her face that is. Especially easy to see in the photo on the rocks. In magnification her face 'floats' in front of the body.
Apart from that, the Belfast Telegraph had those photographs probably as early as the 7th of May - the article on the holiday etc being on the 8th.
Why was the Irish angle promoted so early? There was no close family which was visited time and time again. We've not heard from a single family member there, only Philomena - the early PR officer, distributing Gerry's press releases. Her 'wee' brother as she likes to call him.
My opinion is this: we are made to look at Easter-in-Ireland, except that a witness in Zaival beach Portugal is 100% sure he saw them in Zaival at Easter which is not far from PdL.
At least the good Irish people who donated some 20.000 or so euros to the 'cause' refused to put it in the Fund when they realised it wasn't a charity. I don't know if they ever got that money.

Re: Parents of Madeline McCann make their first trip back to Donegal since her disappearance
Maddie was only 3 years old when the McCanns consistently left her and her 2 yr old siblings in harms way in a foreign holiday apartment. That was Madeleine's last visit with her family anywhere!!! Who gives a stuff where the parents choose to spend their holidays now!

Re: Parents of Madeline McCann make their first trip back to Donegal since her disappearance
I don't believe that the Easter 2007 visit to Donegal ever happened; in my view it was a fake story planted to garner sympathy with the Irish people.
The chances of this new story being true are extremely slim.

Didn't they go to Ireland with the twins in 2008 to do an interview.
Surely they would off visited Donegal whilst there.

Mildly surprised that there's no accompanying holiday photo with the article, but still ...
"People here know Gerry and Kate well and we're just letting him get on with their holiday without any fuss," said one local resident last night. "They're one of us."
What an odd thing to say.

This, according to the local resident . And what exactly does 'without any fuss' mean? Is that akin to not asking the infamous child neglectors for their autograph?almostgothic wrote:Mildly surprised that there's no accompanying holiday photo with the article, but still ...

I'm surprised none of the British Press picked up on this, unless of course the McCanns , aware of the searches for April and Ben decided not to want to claim the limelight yet again and kept their visit to Donegal secret out of respect.

Re: Parents of Madeline McCann make their first trip back to Donegal since her disappearance
I doubt it is within the nature of the beast for Healy or McCann to treat others with respect - at least, there is very little historical evidence of precedent !

Re: Parents of Madeline McCann make their first trip back to Donegal since her disappearance
Obviously a slow news day in Ireland, and Clarry M has good contacts there so this non story (made up story?) appears.
Are there any forum members in Donegal who could go to Dungloe and see if they can find the Mccanns and get a photograph?

Ah but TEIN, the McCanns might also be worried that the fund will run out at Christmas time and if no new evidence is found the public will probably turn on the McCanns for creating such a fuss and wasting £3 million of Taxpayers money and Police time,. You must admit they have been out of the News for several weeks now.

How can those people know Kate and Gerry well when the McCanns haven't been there for five years and don't seem to have been there together very often at all?

24-25th Oct - Press reports about McCanns taking TB to court and requesting that he be sent to prison.
A 'Nasty McCanns' story.
26th Oct - Press report about Donegal holiday.
A poignant (snigger) 'Nice McCanns' story.
A bitter pill immediately followed by a spoonful of sugar.
Everybody go: "Aww bless ..."

Indeed almostgothic.... it's the Team McCann school of spin, and their usual modus operandi.

I couldn't have put that better myself!
This load of old shoe repairers is also in the Donegal Daily.

Kate and Gerry were in Dublin only last year to promote the novel and appear on TV but we can hardly expect anyone capable of churning out a non-story like this to check their facts.
Tigger, I have heard of the witness who claims to have seen the family in Portugal at Easter 2007; most interesting but he could of course be mistaken. I suppose there is no chance now of checking CCTV or credit card receipts.

One local woman, who asked not to be named, said she was delighted when she seen Gerry in Dungloe.
“I went over and said hello to him and asked how things were going."
Well, she at least she asked him how things were going.............unlike his tennis buddy Jez Wilkins who didn't
the day AFTER Madeleine went "missing" and who studiously avoided all contact with the police until GM NAMED Jez in his "interview" and then couldn't avoid the police any longer!
Still dosen't EXPLAIN why WILKINS, the central character in "play" dosen't get a mention on the hand written "timelines"!
After all, the T9 were all talking about Wilkins talking to McCann, and JT seeing them talking, a few minutes before he returned to the table at 9:25 pm 3rd May 2007.
Perhaps Wilkins had been 'abducted' by the time MO wrote the timeline(s)!

Re: Parents of Madeline McCann make their first trip back to Donegal since her disappearance
Does anyone really care where the mccanns go for their holidays anymore ? Why is this in the papers anyway, they are not celebrities or anything of importance so who is issuing these press releases like we care ?
Or should we care might have been a better way to put it,i don't really give a toss where they are unless it involves Court and jail.

They could be about 150.000 pounds the richer (or the Fund could) as these are the costs to date for suing Tony Bennett. Would that money not have been better spent looking for Maddie?
CR are working on a retainer as they kindly let TB know, interesting - according to the book they are working for free. Quietly, behind the scenes.....

Hi tigger, it's not the first time the McCanns have said Carter Ruck is working for them for nothing......as if!!!
They have to say that because there is nothing itemised in their Accounts to show how much they have spent on Legal Fees. Tony Bennet is also facing a Law Suit from Ed Smethurst , who knows, just as the McCanns know they have no chance of being paid any award.

Lioned. The only ones I have any concern of where they are and what they are doing are the twins, who by now sadly are so badly brainwashed imo.

Yes, the reports that they were filling the twins' heads (and presumably scaring them witless) with stories about imaginary abductors didn't do my blood pressure any good.
