The private detective agency Método 3 was contracted for 6 months but its searches were not successful.

The agency has now become embroiled in the subject of spying on the president of the Catalán PP and on Jordi Pujol’s son’s girlfriend.

This did not lead to the girl’s whereabouts either, although Marco claimed that the boxes contained 8 important leads. Sources close to the British investigation revealed that these leads were not so conclusive.

However, Método 3 again appeared in the newspapers six years after its name became known world-wide following the Maddie case. Now, and as published today by El Mundo, it is the agency that supposedly contracted the ex secretary of the PSC to record conversations between Alicia Sánchez Camacho, secretary of the PP in Catalonia, and Victória Alvarez, the girlfriend of Jordi Pujol Ferrusola.

The socialists have denied espionage, although El Mundo has published the agency’s bill for the services contracted which apparently included some recordings mad using a sophisticated system of hidden microphones in a Barcelona restaurant, where Camacho and Alvarez had gone to eat. The recordings apparently contain conversations about visits made by Jordi Pujol Jr to Andorra taking bags of money with him and about his business deals in Argentina.

What is certain according to El Mundo is that Método 3 is one of Spain’s most prestigious detective agencies, although they were unlucky in the case of Madeleine. Neither is it the first time that the agency has been linked to high level espionage. In 2009, El Confidencial published information showing that Método 3 spied, for the fee of 56.000 euros, on the vice presidents of Barça - Jaume Ferrer, Joan Boix, Joan Franquesa and Rafael Yuste.

The information highlighted the controversy that has always surrounded the detective agency. Several years ago this agency was involved in an illegal phone tapping incident acting upon the request of a supposed businessman, which led to the arrest of the agency’s directors.

In addition, Método 3 was the agency that found the “deceased” Francisco Paesa in Paris and was involved, according to El Confidencial, in the matter of espionage of the then vice president of the Madrid Community as well of the current president, Ignacio González."

ABCes a Newspaper owned by I think by the Telegraph interviewed Metodo 3 in Spain in 2009 and said they did not receive the £5,000 a month quoted in the British Press , but E160,000 plus E4,000 expenses for 6 months work.
Their business was money laundering and fraud......just like Halligen.!!

Kennedy is a shady dealer and if you notice, Metodo 3 and Halligens credentials were Fraud and Money Laundering.

Didn't the judge remark after tony mentioned the fund by saying it's not part off this case ......just in case there may be a COURT CASE?

Sorry, I can't reveal my source, so I accept that without corroboration people are perfectly entitled to treat the notion guardedly (I would, for sure!).

That said, even if one discounts my own claim, it would be surprising in the extreme if the Fund were not included.

I frequently challenge people on seemingly unsupported claims, but do understand the wide range of reasons why they might have no easily apparent robust backing - ranging from poor logic, trolling, misinterpretation, self-aggrandisement etc. through to a genuine concern for a semblance of integrity tempered by a wish to reassure like-minded people. Readers can judge better the merits (or otherwise) by considering the overall apparent reliability of the Poster.

TBH l think this review all started because Halligens arrest TEIN so l've always thought the fund was part of the review. Might be why they were spooked enough to set aside some money especially for the 'search' in this years accounts, never done that before!

Actually kitti, Metodo 3 were known for fraud and Money laundering...not for finding missing Children!!!!!! the fact that the Fund employed them for months , same with Halligen, should hopefully give us clues that SY know they have found nothing to suggest the Portugese did not follow up leads etc, but plenty of evidence that the Fund was abused, we could have told them that a long time ago. Only yesterday I was reading one of the articles I saved, too long to write here, where it was proved that the £37,500 the Fund paid to have FindMadeleine set up was actually calculated to cost £14,000.

Some might say that Brian Kennedy has been extremely unlucky in his choice of PIs for the McCanns.

Yes, and Metodo 3 , interviewed a long time ago by ABCes a Spanish branch of the Guardian said they did not receive all the money quoted in the British Press, E160,000 for 6 months work plus E4,000 expenses . Kennedy is a dodgy character, has had 2 Companies struck off for not submitting accounts on time, one of which was a Company, Weatherseal which took deposits from hundreds of people for new Windows and they lost their money. Why would the Fund employ Smethurst as a Director of the Fund, he is the Corporate Lawyer for Kennedy's Companies..

I am truly amazed that a couple who believed their daughter to have been taken by paedophiles could have got themselves mixed up with so many dodgey people .This is a couple who are without doubt intelligent folks but on finding the daughter missing engaged the most dodgey people out there .Sorry i don't need to read all this below again . From previous reports the folks they employed to look for their little girl were people who had no experience in this field .I watched the parents of James Bulger and saw raw open wounds at the loss of their son after twenty years , i have never seen this kind of pain from the McCanns .Its about time they gave up this nonsense , this charade if only for their little girls sake , who IMO is long dead and they know this .
