Another 'family' hoping to cash in?
Probably be doing the rounds of the TV studios today. (for a small 'fee' you understand)
'story' takes 1 year 3 months to get 'published'!!!!
Looks like the old man is 'posing' for picture'
And the 'dad' let the man go free............ TWICE!
All a bit strange imo.

Hunt is on for child-snatcher
Suspect ... have you seen this man?
By KAREN MORRISON
Published: 12 hrs ago
COPS are hunting a man who tried to snatch a three-year-old girl from her parents holidaying in the Canary Islands.
The suspect – believed to be British – tried to kidnap the girl from the Lanzarote shop on 30 January last year.
When the victim’s father noticed she was missing, he left the store and spotted his little girl being led around a corner into an alleyway by a man holding her hand.
He shouted and ran up to his daughter, pulling her away from the man who then left the scene.
The family, from Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire, were on the beach a short time later and saw the same man, who spoke fluent English, sitting between some rocks and acting suspiciously.
Map ... girl snatched in Costa Teguise
The victim’s father confronted the suspect, but he fled the scene before cops arrived.
Luckily, the quick thinking family took photos of the man which have been released by police today, in an attempt to identify him.
The suspect is described as white, with pasty skin, of stocky build with broad shoulders, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins, 40 to 55-years-old, with short dark hair and a dark moustache.
Investigating officer Detective Constable John Swallow said: “This is a very concerning incident in which a young girl was led away from her family by an unknown man.
“The victim’s father knew it was his daughter being led around the corner because he recognised her flashing trainers.
“The incident was reported to Thames Valley Police after initially being reported to police in Lanzarote and we have been making enquiries to try and establish the man’s identity since then.
“We are working closely with the Spanish authorities and Interpol on this case and will continue to do so.
“We have reason to believe he may be a British citizen as he spoke fluent English and made references to being on holiday.
“I am appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the images or has information on his whereabouts to contact police as soon as possible.”
Call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or speak to Thames Valley Police on 101.
The McCanns don't get mentioned ONCE in original!
"The suspect is described as white, with pasty skin,"
Oh well, J Tanner will have to rethink her damn pesky 'swarthy foreigner' sighting!
ETA. The Sun has just changed this story to completely inbed McCanns into the headlines.
How utterly PREDICTABLE!
Now we have THIS!

Final edit:
At least Lanzarote will give Andy and his merry men a different 'holiday' than sunny Portugal!

Re: Jump on the bandwagon?
Yes it is indeed interesting how the story morphed into a typical UK press Madeleine story complete with quote from Mitchell after first appearing as a non-event. My dictionary defines snatch as seizing something suddenly and peremtorily. By this definition what is described here wasn't a snatch. Was it even an attempted snatch? Difficult to know - we only have one man's word for it - oh and Mitchell's of course. That and the fact that the 'story' only broke after what has become the obligatory silence of a year or more makes me somewhat sceptical. But why are the police involved - both Thames Valley and Scotland Yard? How does Mitchell get away with that?

HUNT FOR NEW MADDIE FIEND
11th April 2013
By Keyan Milanian
A BRIT has spoken of the “shocking” moment his daughter was caught up in a suspected kidnap bid that mirrored the Madeleine McCann case.
Police want to speak to the man after her dad intervened.
Doctors think two fits suffered by the girl, who was just three at the time of the terrifying ordeal, may have been brought on by stress.
The dad of three, from Milton Keynes, Bucks, had been shopping on holiday in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, when his girl vanished.
He spotted her flashing trainers disappearing round a corner.
He told the Daily Star: “There was a man leading her off by the wrist. I shouted, ‘Oi! What the f*** are you doing?’ I grabbed her but he wouldn’t make eye contact and walked off.
“I think she was in shock and knew something was very wrong.”
Later the family spotted the man, believed to be British, again close to young girls near the beach and the dad took the photo.
The suspect denied any wrongdoing, claiming he was on a drying-out weekend organised by Alcoholics Anonymous and had thought the girl was lost.
The dad, who asked to remain anonymous, said the family reported the incident to Spanish police and British police when they returned home.
The incident bears frightening similarities to the McCann case, when three-year-old Maddie went missing in Portugal in 2007.
The dad added: “We’re lucky, we got her back.
“I believe he was an opportunist. If he’s innocent I want police to tell me that.”
Det Const John Swallow, of Thames Valley Police , said: “Anyone who recognises him or has information on his whereabouts should contact us.”
He is described as white with pasty skin, of stocky build with broad shoulders, 5ft 8ins-5ft 9ins, 40-55 years old, with short dark hair and a dark moustache.
Kate and Gerry McCann’s spokesman Clarence Mitchell said last night: “They’re aware of this.
“It is good news that the child was spotted and recovered very quickly by her father.
“Scotland Yard have been contacted and are now liaising with the force.’’
Another source close to the McCanns said: “Again this is proof that British youngsters are potentially vulnerable while away on holiday."

Re: Jump on the bandwagon?
“There was a man leading her off by the wrist. I shouted, ‘Oi! What the f*** are you doing?’ I grabbed her but he wouldn’t make eye contact and walked off.
So this was a supposed child abductor, caught in the act, and yet he walked off?
Later the family spotted the man, believed to be British, again close to young girls near the beach and the dad took the photo.
So they didn't apprehend him/call the police - but just talked to him and took a photo?
The dad, who asked to remain anonymous, said the family reported the incident to Spanish police and British police when they returned home.
But why wait until returning home when they could have nabbed him on the spot?
And it's a pity this 'dad' remains anonymous because a name would give at least some credence to this predictably barmy story.
Another source close to the McCanns said: “Again this is proof that British youngsters are potentially vulnerable while away on holiday."
Well that's where you're wrong, Mister Another Source - it's not the holiday away that makes them vulnerable - in some cases it's having lousy, unwatchful, selfish parents that makes them vulnerable, you wazzock.
Anyways, this man isn't Hewlett (because he's still walking around) so he can't be guilty of anything McCann-related. So there.
NEXT!!!

Re: Jump on the bandwagon?
All children in every country are not vulnerable if they are looked after properly.
It makes it sound like it just British children that are at risk on foreign beaches ...what a load load off bollocks....sorry, just 3 year old blond girls ..
It's obvious paedos go to beaches, they go because children go there.

"The incident bears frightening similarities to the McCann case, when three-year-old Maddie went missing in Portugal in 2007."
"suspected kidnap bid that mirrored the Madeleine McCann case."
Er, how exactly?
Did the man 'smash the shutters' that led to the beach?
Did he leave the window to the beach open, as a red herring?
Did Madeleines' supposed 'abductor' POSE for a picture of himself and hang around the area where he would probably get caught?
Yep, mirrored, to a tee.
All he had to say was 'I thought it was Madeleine and i was just taking her to the police to claim the reward'
'she looks just like the little 3 year old girl in the photo Gerry and Kate wanted people to look for'
As Gerry famously said "You have gone over old ground. It’s really quite boring."
NOW YOU ALL KNOW WHY MITCHELL WAS 'VISITING' SY RECENTLY!
Andy 'pandy' Redwood TOLD, by Mitchell, to justify the vast amount of public money he has supposedly "spent" on the maybe alive or maybe dead 'missing' child!

Madeleines birthday is in May.
The 'abduction' was in May.
London marathon is April 21st....wonder if all the emphasis will be on 'poor kate'.
I think this news is to bury bad news.....so maybe it has something to do with Mr Amaral....don't know why they bother anyway because the world will find out via twitter...

If frustrating any attempt to bring charges for a crime without a body by continually coming up with sightings and suchlike is the name of the game, then those following such a strategy must be very confident that the body will never be discovered. Although there have been recent cases where convictions have been obtained without a body, I cannot recall any where there has been an independent sighting of the missing person never mind a constant stream of newspaper reports, photofits etc etc. Unless investigated and completely ruled out or debunked, all sightings or speculative press articles will play a part in causing reasonable doubt thus making any prosecution unlikely to succeed even when the weight of all other evidence is high. It's a war of attrition and I'm still not entirely convinced about the true purpose of the SY review.

ITV 'this morning' Sue Hill "someone has been arrested" "Thames Valley police investigation" "somebodys in custody"
REPEAT ITV+1 at 11:50 am today
Better get Jane Tanner ( she'll be iin London shortly for the "Madeleine Marathon") "in the van" then to 'confirm' possible identification of the WHITE, PASTY FACED, 62 (SIXTY TWO) YEAR OLD, perv!
Or get the three doctors , O'Brien, R Oldfield, Fiona Payne, to sit in same room, like they did when they tried to 'snare' Murat!

Reply(JT) “Yeah, no, yeah so I don’t know."
ALL pervs should be cas....ated
However i think even as we speak SY review 'team' are mixing the buckets of whitewash in the basement at SY.

I thought it odd that the father said he recognised his daughter because of the flashing lights in her trainers. Didn't he know her by her appearance? Her clothes? But her shoes?
Re: Jump on the bandwagon?
stoppit, that made me laugh and it shouldnt have. I did wonder why if out with her parents at least one of them was keeping an eye on her. children are fast, they dodge, duck, to them not holding mum and dads hand is a game. they want to be grown up or older and not do things they are asked. ji,o
