Re: Bring them all back to Portugal! Robert Murat in Sunday Express!
"Last week Prime Minister David Cameron had a private meeting with the McCanns in London, promising them the review would not fall foul of budget cuts and giving them enough confidence to say on their website that they hope for a significant breakthrough in the months ahead."
So, if the McCanns ARE found to be involved, in any way, with Madeleines 'disappearance' (i never did understand why Gerry said 'disappearance. rather than 'abduction' when he got off plane at East Midlands airport) Cameron WILL have to RESIGN.
COVERING UP a few dodgy donations to the Tory party is totally different to COVERING UP FOR/SUPPORTING a couple that may have been involved in a possible childs death, albeit accidentally.
Cameron has to rattle his one brain cell and ask himself WHO exactly was it that TOLD him Madeleine had been 'abducted'
And that applies to ALL of the zlebs. politicians that endlessly spout 'Madeleines ABDUCTION'
Who exactly was it that TOLD them THAT?

Re: Bring them all back to Portugal! Robert Murat in Sunday Express!
The McCanns and their pathetic parenting and truth bending problems were proven to be a very hot potato for Brown to handle. I would imagine someone with his limited foresight, (pun intended) was probably thankful to pass on the poison chalice to the incoming Cameron/Clegg coalition.

maddie Madeleine McCann: April Jones PR and Robert Murat wants a reconstruction
MADELEINE MCCANN: the sixth anniversary of her vanishing looms. The Express and Star lead with the McCanns, ‘Our Maddie’s parents. Kate and Gerry McCann.
The Star leads with the news that April Jones is in their prayers.
Tracey Kandohla reports on the “low-key” church service to remember Madeleine McCann.
Tearful Kate and Gerry spared a thought for the tragic youngster and her family despite their own heartache.
That’s thoughtful. But why do we have to know it? Why not a silent prayer for the missing child?
Maddie’s great aunt Janet Kennedy lit a candle for April on Friday evening – the day a court heard her mum Coral and dad Paul’s agonising recollections of the night last October when the five-year-old went missing. Janet said: “I am the first here to light a candle to remember April and her parents. This week has been extremely trying for them, to say the least. They are very much in our thoughts.”
The death of April Jones is a horror. But do her grieving parents need a spokesman to place their upset in the context of Madeleine McCann? The Star thinks they do.
As Janet paid tribute, Kate, 45, struggled for composure and was comforted by Gerry. She sobbed as she told a gathering in her home village of Rothley, Leics: “It’s not just the pain of having a missing child, it’s the confusion, uncertainty and living in limbo.”
April Jones’ parents are in court to see Mark Bridger tried for their daughter’s murder. They have a firm idea what happened to her. We do not know what happened to Madeleine McCann. All we know is that she vanished. No-one has been arrested, let alone charged in connection to that vanishing.
Says Gerry McCann:
“Six years…sometimes it feels like yesterday and today it feels like an entire lifetime. It has been a very rocky road for our family and those close to us. But the support we have had from them all and the general public has really kept us going.”
The Express take an entirely different angle, leading with:
“BRING THEM BACK TO PORTUGAL”
ROBERT MURAT today appeals for Scotland Yard to stage a filmed reconstruction of all the events surrounding the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
But the McCanns have been reluctant to return to Portugal and play their parts in any re-enactment. What says Murat, the man monstered by sections of the British press, as the McCanns were?
“They [the Met Police conducting a review} need to speak to everybody, including myself, and they need to get the Portuguese involved in a much more constructive way. To get somewhere now they need to have a joint team working here together in Praia da Luz. This is where it happened. It didn’t happen in England.
“The reconstruction should cover the critical period just before and after the abduction.”
The Express notes:
When the Judiciaria named the McCanns as suspects, they and their friends chose not to take part in a PJ-led reconstruction. It would be different now that they have been cleared, said Mr Murat.
He adds:
“A reconstruction is a real necessity. I am sure it would fill in some of the missing pieces of the jigsaw. Even now after all this time, the timeline is still confused.”
Adding:
“You cannot lose sight of the fact that a child was taken and we need to know what happened to her… I am available to help on the proper legal basis. I think everybody who was around at that time, holidaymakers and people at the Ocean Club, should be interviewed again. The timeline needs to be made crystal clear because there is still so much confusion, such a mess.”
Murat, once described as an “oddball” is now seen anew by Jams Murray:
He brushed back his thick dark brown hair, rubbed his tanned chin…
No mention of his one-eye, a fact the British press once inclouded in almost every report on the innocent man. He is now handsome.
Murat ads:
“There is no way to describe the impact this has had on our lives. Six years later it still affects me. I wasn’t able to do much for years and years. It was difficult getting back on the horse, so to speak, and do the stuff I was doing before.”
Such are the facts…

Re: Bring them all back to Portugal! Robert Murat in Sunday Express!
“It must be a tremendously difficult time of year for them and of course as a human being you feel for them and for the loss of their daughter"
Murat is cautious in the interview, he speaks about "abduction" but some sentences like the above, are ambiguous and imo, he things that it was a concealed accident and insists a lot on the inconsistencies of the timetable.
Does he know more than he pretends? Why does he say that the 48 hours before the 3rd of May are important?
Why does he give this important interview now after his long silence? Interesting timing, just before Amaral's trial and may be SY conclusions?
He knows that his interview won't have any consequences on SY decision, so is it a warning to the McCanns, a revenge, or the genuine desire to end this farce with the only logical solution : the reconstruction?
I am perplexed.
Is it another article in the same paper?

It is now six years since Madeleine McCann went missing
Despite their unimaginable suffering, parents Kate and Gerry have campaigned without rest to keep their daughter's case in the public eye and maintain pressure on the police for that vital resolution.
So we can only hope that the couple are justified in their current belief that a significant breakthrough in the case is just around the corner.
In two years, the £4.5million case review by homicide detectives at Scotland Yard has failed to shed new light on events of that evening in 2007 or to persuade the Portuguese authorities to reopen the investigation.
No one expects Operation Grange to provide a running commentary on its review but revelations that Scotland Yard has yet to interview key witness and former suspect Robert Murat must surely raise questions.
The search must continue for Madeleine McCann
No matter how terrible the case, Scotland Yard must account for the public money being spent in pursuit of the truth.
Mr Murat has rebuilt his life since he was cleared of all suspicion over Madeleine's disappearance and stands ready and willing to help.
He cannot understand why a full reconstruction of the night has not been conducted and believes other key witnesses have also not been reinterviewed.
No matter how terrible the case, Scotland Yard must account for the public money being spent in pursuit of the truth.
Questions must be asked as to whether all key witnesses will be reinterviewed and, if not, why not? The passage of time must not render the search for Madeleine any less exhaustive."

Good points frencheuropean, perhaps Murat is telling the McCanns that he will be speaking at the upcoming Amaral trial.... Either way the McCanns must be worried at the sudden outbreak of adverse headlines from the Express.

May be Malena.
I just noticed that Murat spoke about a "48-hour timeline " and that could be the 3rd and the 4th of May and not the 48 hours before.More logical.

The Sun take on it is interesting as well...pointing out the cost of the review against the total lack of progress or transparency, all we need now is the campaign to force SY into revealing what's been done so far and what the conclusions are.

I'll just bet they are, and they don't want a successful PM backed SY whitewash threatened by the victim of the first framing attempt.
Amen!

Another article in the Express under the heading of "Express Comment": "Police must keep up effort to solve Madeleine riddle".
In the view of the Express it is a "riddle" and according to the article, the McCanns "a significant breakthrough in the case is just around the corner".

Isn't 48 hours before the night that the neighbour heard all the crying, where the next morning Maddie allegedly asked 'why didn't you come for me'?
Perhaps Murat considers that to admit that, there must be more to it.
Maybe it was masses spirit that asked Kate that on that particular morning, hence the return to religion.
Perhaps SY & Portuguese worked on the theory that any accident occurred 24 hours before, hence the dodgy crèche records.

Re: Bring them all back to Portugal! Robert Murat in Sunday Express!
Why has Murat suddenly become vocal ?
Why have the Express decided to print something that would appear to deviate from a McCann approved press release ?
This has been driving me crazy all day. Regardless of the content of the article, these to questions just won't go away.
Why would he speak out now when it is likely those where he lives have probably only recently forgotten his alleged involvement and life is perhaps returning to normal for him. Why remind everybody of who he is and what happened to him ?
I just don't get it.
