This is fantastic. First I have heard of the nuclear power station report. Pity it wasn't broadcast in the U.K.

Thanks Fred!
I hadn't heard before that Theresa May is allegedly holding back classified information.

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
But why is he so certain?
Because that's what Birch told him?
Until that drive is dug up, no-one knows for sure what's under there.
I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I only managed a few minutes of that interview.
So if I missed any gems, mea culpa.
It's just that the interviewer was painfully hesitant and CS sounds like the kinda guy I've spent half my social life trying to avoid.

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
How anyone can take Stephen Birch seriously is beyond me. Having encountered him on another forum, he behaved exactly like a McCann troll - abusive to other members, making the most ridiculous statements and refusing to debate properly.
I'll be very surprised if he doesn't have drink and / or mental health issues.
I hasten to add that those two issues by themselves don't necessarily prove that he's unreliable but they need to be taken into account.

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
Like almostgothic, I only listened for a couple of minutes and found it hard to understand. Only one comment......why did Stephen Birch not go to the PJ or the McCanns for that matter with his finding. ??????? I remember a long time ago when I was a Member of 3a's a poster with a Foreign name . like Guido or similar saying Madeleine's body was buried under concrete in a pipeworks in PDL....whoosh clunk it was gone in 5 minutes.

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
Hi jeanmonroe, not since the jobenet case all those years ago has a child's disappearance caused so much WorldWide attention...except maybe the Dingo case. Now Madeleine's case is known World wide , through her Parents and PR management kept on the boil. In all 3 cases the Parents were accused. Jonbenets parents had to move to another City to get away from the gossip, the Mother died a few years later. In the Dingo case, the Parents split but were exonerated when the blood stained cardigan belonging to the child was found miles away from the Camp years later. Six years down the line we are no nearer knowing what happened to Madeleine ....will we ever?jeanmonroe wrote:Snearing KM on 'this morning' interview some time back: "Stephen who? Morning fred, no neither do I.....all this bull.... about 38 persons of interest etc, SY had two years to find something overlooked in the PJ investigation and that's all they could come up with!!! What beats me is why the Home Office agreed to further expense .....could it have been at Cameron's insistance?fred wrote:No, I don't think we will ever know.

"no credibility, who is this person at the end of the day?" KM.
Just to add, if the 'lead' ridiculous or not, has NOT been explored then how does she KNOW if it is credible or not?
If there was even the remotest possibility that my 'child' COULD in a 'void' in PDL then i would be digging into it with my bare hands!
RM could sue me later!
If there was the SLIGHTEST possibility that my 'child' was there, then at least i would have tried to recover, and if there, been able to give my 'child' a decent burial, back in UK!
KM dismisses out of hand!
She wasn't going to risk chipping a single manicured fingernail on 'digging' ANYWHERE! imo.

See her face twitch when his name is mentioned? No doubt if he had paid the 40 grand into the fund instead of it being spent on a scanner, he would be credible!

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
What are we talking about........digging up a small patch of concrete !!!!! Would the Portugese Police bypass the owners of the House if they thought for one minute Madeleine's body would be found there? Wouldn't pressure be put on Murat's Mother to allow this??? Why didn't Stephen Birch approach SY? They would have got Cameron to phone the British Embassy who would approach the Chief Police Officer and permission would be granted.
Let's hurry up and get a Trial Date for the McCann/Amaral case, far more will be learned from that I am sure.

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
In my opinion, the likelihood of a libel trial taking place is negligible, Panda. There is talk that Mr Amaral has recently made an offer of compensation that has been accepted by the McCanns. This, I’m sure, will come as a great relief to Mr Amaral, who appeared gaunt and unwell in recent photographs, due in no small part, I imagine, to the burden of carrying the fabled ace up his sleeve for such a long period of time. I expect that the money that is currently held in escrow will be released shortly and a significant sum paid to the Find Madeleine Fund.Panda wrote:Let's hurry up and get a Trial Date for the McCann/Amaral case, far more will be learned from that I am sure.

escrow lol...he doesn't own a property for any funds to be held that way. And I'm sure you can provide a link or source to the "talk" you mention of offers...Palmeras16 wrote:In my opinion, the likelihood of a libel trial taking place is negligible, Panda. And what on earth are you talking about, fabled aces up his sleeve? Don't forget the main thrust of the McCanns vexatious litigation refers to the alleged damage that Snr Amaral's book did to the search for Madeleine...which of course was never interrupted with numerous sightings here, there and everywhere throughout the time of the book's publication until now and of course, the Met are now on the search, so the McCanns don't have a leg to stand on.

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
I understood it was the McCanns who wanted an out of Court settlement and Amaral refused. The Judge said he would give 6 months for an out of Court Settlement to be made and if it is not, a Trial Date would be given. This would mean September most likely. Amaral has been treated shabbily and I am sure will want his day in Court. The McCanns Lawyer keeping the books for so long will be aired I am sure and TV1 has a vested interest because Amaral's Video was screened there and they are being sued.

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
A former police officer who was doing his job correctly offering compensation to the people whose feelings he hurt (bless 'em) by not believing their lies?
Oh Palmeras16, it's the way you tell 'em!
I seem to have lost my laughter smilies, alas; will try again.
I think we need to send the dogs out to search for the abducted smilies.

Re: Chris Spivey radio interview
And anyway, had it been Amaral who had asked for the settlement, which is ridiculous on so many levels, the McCanns would have been shouting it from the rooftops, and they certainly wouldn't have been giving him six months to agree a figure, they would have been baying for his blood and every last penny he had, because they are infinitely greedy.
Notably, whilst the used to be quite verbose on the subject of Snr Amaral, they haven't said a word about him in these last few months, because they know that A) they have lost and B) it could get really bad for them if he insists that it goes to a full libel trial.
Snr Amaral is a man of principle though, and I'm sure that if the SY investigation requires him to be silent for fear of jeopardising their case, then he will comply, because more than anything he desires justice, not for himself, but for poor little Madeleine.

The mccanns are no longer an item and cannot agree what to do about Amarel. They are running out of money now as well so getting increasingly difficult for them to pay their expensive lawyers.
Scotland Yard are going to question them soon, the political situation is changing.

Are you sure they have split Lionel ? I would have thought they would stay joined at the hip until the Investigation was completed, it was they who wanted it.!!1 Something going on about Kate's third bewk, it was supposed to be published in April/May.Lioned wrote:The mccanns are no longer an item and cannot agree what to do about Amarel. They are running out of money now as well so getting increasingly difficult for them to pay their expensive lawyers.
