Chris Spivey radio interview

I'll be interested to know what evidence there is - rather than rumours - that the Gruesomes are no longer a couple. A match made in a very hot place if you ask me, I can't see them splitting up.

An extract from an article which appeared in an on line edition of the Telegraph in July which then got wooshed soon after later to reappear without the reference to the marriage split.


Who would be Kate McCann? The kind of pressure, torment and double-edged hope she must live with everyday would surely have crippled most of us by now. To lose a child is bad enough, but to then be made a suspect in that child’s murder, to be exploited and intruded upon by newspapers as detailed in her evidence to the Leveson Inquiry, to deal with hundreds of supposed sightings of her little girl in the months and years that have followed from that fateful night, endless speculation, hopes raised and dashed, the break up of her marriage and feeling that this will never be resolved.

Talking of Chris Spivey in this blog he claims to have been told by a reliable source about the marriage split !

Any talk of Goncalo Amaral, reaching a settlement with the McCanns is complete hogwash, in my humble opinion. Why would he reach an out of court settlement with the McCanns, when he won two court cases against them, regarding their attempt to permanently ban his book 'The Truth of the Lie'?

The McCanns won the first round of their attempt to ban Dr Amaral's book. Dr Amaral put in an appeal and his appeal was successful. The McCanns then appealed to the Supreme Court Judge, who examined the book. The Judge decided that there was nothing in the book, that was libellous and he upheld the judgement that was made in the Appeals Court. The McCanns lawyer, Isobel Duarte, was ordered to return all the copies of Dr Amaral's book, that she had in her possession.

Since that day, the McCanns have made an allegation against Dr Amaral, stating he made a fraudulent claim for legal aid. The McCanns claim was deemed malicious and thrown out.

Dr Amaral is a trained lawyer, he knows the Portuguese law inside out. He knew he was in the right, that is why he stood his ground with the McCanns.

In my opinion and always assuming the McCanns don't drop their court action against Dr Amaral, Dr Amaral will once again stand his ground. He has already stated that he wants the McCanns to appear in the witness stand, so he can question them.

Dr Amaral must not let the McCanns get the better of him. They are without a shadow of doubt, unconvicted criminals. They broke the Portuguese law and up to now, have got away with whatever crimes they committed, which resulted in the disappearance of Madeleine.

Dr Amaral has fought to get justice for Madeleine. He has been kicked in the teeth, every step of the way, by those who have no interest in Madeleine's plight, only a vested interest, in making sure the McCanns remain free.

Me neither. They have to keep an eye on each other, rest of their miserable lives.
We all know the story about the 'dream' k8 had and called PJ, while gerry left her alone for a while, and gerry only found out in court in PT, and was furious. He want let that sort of thing happen again. He have to make sure k8 is not talking to someone while lonely and drunk. imo

The man would have to be lonely and drunk to sleep with her!

Hardly a flattering photo of the McCanns is it, "But they haven’t dug up Robert Murats fucking drive have they?" 

I don't think they are still together as a couple but they may want the world to think they are.  Kate has done a lot of solo performances with Gerry nowhere in sight. Plus the messages on Find Madeleine which are just signed off as Kate not Kate and Gerry.

Morning chrissie, yet not so long ago Gerry was there supporting Kate in the marathon . Having said that, I noted in the copy of Accounts that Kate has her address as the Secretaries and Gerry has Glenfields which I thought was strange at the time. I remember Gerry's Mother in an interview remarking that Kate had a temper and someone told her that one day she was screaming at Gerry "It is me they are after, not you".
